Colorbar ‘Just Earth’ Blush : A Warm Natural Flush

by mehak on October 27, 2010

in Blush, colorbar

I just realised that the heading of this post rhymes in quite a cheesy way. Haha,  anyway, I am going through a phase of reviewing all of  my old products (since i dont want to go out and purchase too much more makeup), and i realised that i had given this little gem a miss. Most of you would have heard about this through other blogs but i think that its such a value for money product, it can use another review!

Color Bar Just Earth : A warm rustic peach
“Just Earth” by Color bar is a deep earthy peach shade. In the pan, it looks a deep sand dune brown but it goes on a warm rustic peach. This is one of the more interesting blushes i have- a change from all the pinks and corals . The reason i adore this blush is mainly because of how much it warms up the face. It gives a sunkissed soft warm glow- and on indian skin it looks like a very natural earthy flush.

This is definitely one of my winter blushes because of the warmth of the colour. IMO this is universally flattering and both warm and cool skin shades would be able to carry it off. I think this may be a dupe for MAC gingerly though im not sure.

Left: Just Earth Blended, Right: Unblended
Color Bar Just Earth : Its definitely pigmented!
Very highly pigmented product, given that its a drugstore blush. One stroke of your brush and you are good to go. Also the powder is a very finely milled so its a breeze to be loaded on to the brush. You may have to apply it sparingly cos its quite easy to look like you have clown cheeks with this one.

Color Bar Just Earth Staying Power- Umm.Not good
The only reason i would dock some marks from this product is because it goes off in a couple of hours.Probably 4 maximum Iv noticed that over a good moisturizer it lasts longer but even then – its just not good enough. Its such a shame though because the color and texture is so stunning and the longevity just ruins that :(

Other facts:
Price: Rs250 (5$)  (for A LOT of product)
Additional Details: Comes with a nice soft brush and a little mirror (Always a bonus)
Will i Repurchase: If i run out of it , Yes!!
Final Verdict: 4/5 .Love the colour its stunning on my skin tone! Im docking one mark because of the staying power, but its definitely one of the best budget buys out there. I also want to try the Colorbar ‘Peachyrose’ blush.

PnB October 27, 2010 at 8:18 am

@HD Dont go by the looks of the pan. Even i was little apprehensive cs i thought it was a muddy brown. It goes on a dark peach honestly..

RASHMI October 27, 2010 at 1:01 pm

This is more a dupe for MAC coppertone. Gingerly is more orange, for sure. I love my MAC blushes much too much to stray. But these are so feaking cheap! 4 colorbar blushes = 1 MAC blush.

Adorable On Your Vanity October 27, 2010 at 4:44 pm

Even with coppertone, I'd say Coppertone is more subtle than this. Quality wise, I feel it is more on the lines of NYX in terms of pigmentation. Strong pigmentation and low staying power. I'm not convinced.

Its great ur reviewing products you already have:)
I did more posts on Gossip Girl see them if you can :)

I have a lakme blush in 'terracotta', which has now been discontinued. It suits me really well & I was pretty upset when I realised it wasn't available anymore. But I think 'just earth' is the same shade :) so I'll just buy this once I'm through with that.

btw, I like the cheesy rhyming title

though m not a bog fan of blushes still this one looks good..thnx for the review dear..

Hannah October 28, 2010 at 9:47 pm

I am a new follower! Yeah if doesn't last long it's a bit of pain. :S I am a fan of Cliniques Cream blush for the reasons they come in stunning colours and the pigmentation stay all day. :) x
