Lakme Gypsy Collection Swatches

Lakme Gypsy Collection is now finally available in some stores across the country- so i thought id show you guys some of the swatches on these.

There are 2 eye shadow quads released in Lakme Gypsy Collection- “Silk Route” (quad on top) and “Tanjore Rush “(quad on bottom)both are  bright and bold and cost Rs425/-. The colours in this are super pigmented and seem really good quality honestly. What bums me out however, is the choice of colours in a quad. They just dont work together– Lakme Gypsy could have been a sellout with these quads had there been some thought put into complementing colours that work well with each other …If it were up to me, i would take the smokey grey from Silk Route(my absolute favourite colour from both the quads- its an absolutely stunning grey), the purple and  brown from the Tanjore Rush quad and a matte beige/  black to make one  quad. What will i do with yellow green and indigo in a quad unless i want to look like lady gaga for halloween?

Swatches for Lakme Gypsy Lipstick Pallette

Lipstick Pallette swatches left to Right

On to the lipstick pallette in the Lakme Gypsy Collection. The Pallette is actually much bigger than in the pictures so you get a bit of product. The colours are all pretty similar honestly- they havent mixed it up and taken any risks with this one so its very safe. Having said that though, even though the colours are kind of similar- they are very very flattering for indian skin tones. Tha pallette is warm browns , and earthy pinks – a jewelled ruby in there – all would look great for our skin tone. I also like the kind of lustre finish that these are giving- pretty high on the shine factor .There is a little applicator brush that comes with these which is nice- i didnt buy this so no comments on moisture content though they seemed quite creamy in the swatches. I think this would be a great gift to give, or if you are unsure about which colours would suit you, getting 5 lip colours for 600 might be a good deal
I was desperate to try the rose tri blush compact- but unfortunately the store did not stock it :( . That was my most eagerly awaited product from the bunch and im kind of dissapointed that it wasnt there..I didnt purchase anything from Lakme Gypsy, though the lip pallette tempted me . I am going to wait for all you bloggers to take the plunge and  review these before i spend any cash on em. I am on a strict  makeup diet.

i am dying to get the blush but no one seems to have it. I have asked in like two three places. What is the point of advertising something that shops wont stock for some reason? Or is it some limited collection thing?

U know after this gypsy collection came out, i have a feeling that Lakme is trying reeeeally hard to match up to international markets and brands, and u know what? its totally succeeding !!! This collection is just SUPERB !! The quality is good, and the products are mind blowing, if there are people out there who prefer Indian manufactured products(like me), then this is a perfect brand for them. I mean, seriously, Kudos to Lakme !!! Its giving a tough competition to brands like maybelline and colorbar by coming up with products like these.
