Two Lakme Foundations- Invisible Finish and Face Magic Souffle

in Face Products, Foundation, Lakme

I feel my dresser is crowded with Lakme Foundations these days. Despite their flaws, i keep coming back to them because they provide such a good color match for me. Or maybe its just nostalgia since these were the first ones i ever started using . Any how, so two of these are up for review today and i have some very different opinions on both of em! I like keeping good things for the end, so we shall follow that order…

Lakme Face Magic Souffle Foundation (On the left)

Lakme claims-Lightweight soufflĂ© makeup, perfect for everyday wear. Enriched with sunscreens and cucumber extracts.100% water based formula is lightweight so skin does not feel weighed down by extra layers.Souffle form allows for easy application to give skin a natural, flawless look”

What i think about the Lakme Face Magic Souffle :

  • Its moisturizing which is a good thing for me since i have dry skin.
  • Its a bargain at Rs 99! I think thats the only reason i even purchased it.

  • Its ORANGE!. The colour makes me look like Snooki from jersey shore ! I trust lakme blindly in color matches for indian skin but this one is way off
  • Its minimal coverage. I am a low coverage girl but even for me theres nothing in it
  • It doesnt do anything a foundation should do- even out skintone or give a flawless look
  • Doesnt last – its the lakme syndrome

Final Verdict : 2.5/5 – Its the orangeness which really gets to me, they need to rework the colours.
Price: Rs99/-
Shades: 3

Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation
Lakme Claims : “The Invisible Finish Foundation blends perfectly with your skin, Offers full coverage for a flawless invisible finish .Is water based, ultra light when applied”

What i think about the Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation
  • Color match is bang on – it has just the right amount of yellow thats needed for me
  • It gives medium coverage which could be built up
  • It gives a nice healthy glow to the face
  • I wont say its moisturizing, but it doesnt dry out or look cakey either
  • Feels invisible and light on the skin and blends well

  • Wears off quickly in the heat. Also sometmes it transfers onto the shirt collar which is so annoying. I really wish lakme would look into this because i love their foundations had it not been for these issues.

Final Verdict: 4/5 – I absolutely love this foundation,  yes it wears off in the heat but  It gives good enough coverage without being cakey, its light on the face and looks nice and glowy.
Price: Rs 180/-
Shades: 6

with the souffle i find that overtime they start getting a layer of water(?) over the whole thing.

I agree on the color problem of the souffle. It suck. Thanks for the great review :)

I have this invisible finish foundation myself & I quite like the formula – but I hate the way it transfers onto my phone screen when talking, collars, duppattas… It just won't adhere to my skin – no staying power :(

i to just hate their color… its just not for the Indian skin i feel… & it just transfers onto the collar..

u have covered everything in ur review nicely :-))

@shoppingaholic- try the daily silk naturelle foundation – thats a tinted mosturizer type

@anamika- i too used the souffle in college and loved it but these are some new formulations
ones in which the colours are completely off

@tanveer- i know, thats the biggest problem with itlike i mentioned, otherwise it wouldv been my abso favourite ones

@shoppingiinbengaluru- i actually like lakme colours..its only the soufle colour that didnt work for me

lakme face magic is really very good

suraiya February 5, 2013 at 10:59 am

Lakme invisible finish is the only Lakme foundation that suits me….although sometimes it does look too yellow on my skin.
Lakme Face magic- yewwwww! Nothing suited me about it…neither the coverage (i have an acneprone skin with generous spread of blemishes) nor the color ( orange….you are right!).

Another Lakme Product which disappointed me was the “Lakme Nine to Five” foundation…..It’s too thick and becomes cakey in a few hours no matter how much moisturiser i apply ( and i don’t even have dry skin!). The salesgirl convinced me to try it and it was a huge disappointment for me.:(
