Maybelline Coral Pink Lipstick: Like Lip Candy!

by mehak on February 16, 2011

in Lipsticks, Maybelline

I rewrote the title of this post three times. Dont ask me why, but its one of those days where i just cant find adjectives to describe the color, so you will have to bear my lame title. Anyway, point is- i got this lipstick after seeing swatches of it on other blogs and also because i had some free maybelline vouchers which i had to spend, so i thought why not this- its coral, its pink, its win win!
Maybelline Coral Pink: Left with flash, Right without flash

Without Flash

With flash
Colour: Like the name suggests the color is a coral pink. Its a nice bright candied pink with just a hint of orange undertone to it. Very Very flattering color for all skin tones. Specially, if you want to try a bright lip without going overboard, this is absolutely perfect  . I adore this color so much!

Texture: This is part of their ‘Color Sensational Moisture Extreme ‘ Range. Very moisturizing!.I like

Pigmentation: Good.. For girls with naturally pink lips, its  no problem at all. If you have extremely pigmented lips you might need to put two layers to get an opaque color- but the opaqueness does come…so decent pigmentation

Finish:Very nice- it gives a lustre like finish, with a shine- i dont want to apply any gloss over it because it already has a sheenyness to it

Lasting Power: Very Average. Wears off in about 3 hours. I also dont like how it looks once it begins wearing off- it settles into lips sometimes.

Packaging: Aweful. I hate the rust colored tube, reminds me of my aunts who owned lipsticks like these twenty years back

Overall Verdict:  3.75 /5

Price: Rs 220/-

Will i Repurchase: I wont need another one.

Recommendation:This is a really nice candied pink color with coral undertones, which is great if you are looking to sport a bright lip without going overboard. Its also a color which is universally flattering, and a bargain to buy!

Will this go on darker skin? It does look nice..

Poohkie February 17, 2011 at 6:18 am

Actually, I own this too & it does not look good on me. I look oompa-loompa-ish. I can only wear this if I sheer it out completely, which kinda defeats the purpose. So I would suggest that people test it out before buying. It's still a gorgeous colour though.

shade looks different on the lips than the lipstick itself..but the final color is very nice. i m a fan of pink myself..have quite a few of them. Will put them up on my post sometime :)

I have this and I really like it though if i wear it too opaque it looks a bit garish on me. But its such a beautiful shade!
