Whats making my heart skip a beat these days (apart from the cutie James Franco?) – The F80 Sigma Flat Top Kabuki!! For the record, i dont usually invest a lot of money in brushes (or crushes fot that matter). I have one MAC brush, and the rest are all drug store brushes i bought from New U (Let me know if yo want a review on those), so i had no plans of getting this one. But then, i won it on a giveaway held by Deeptima on her blog, and i have been obsessed with it ever since!
Sigma says “The F80 flat top kabuki brush is perfect for applying and blending liquid, cream and powder products into the skin. The flat surface allows for perfect buffing with flawless results”
What do i use it for?
The flat top kabuki is now my favourite way to apply liquid foundations, cream foundations, tinted moisturizers, cream blushes and anything else that needs to be buffed into the skin. I never thought that using a brush would make much of a difference to how well your foundation blends into the skin , but i was way wrong! When i use this brush, i feel like the foundation seeps and gets absorbs into my skin, and gives a smooth even coverage with a glowing finish. Its gorgeous!!!
Also, i usually apply cream blushes with my fingers but some of them have sticky and hard to blend textures- this is so amazing for that!
The bristles of this are super soft, and very densely packed. The result is the liquid/ cream products get picked up easily by the bristles and some quick buffing around the face results not only in smooth and flawless application, but it feels like someone is giving you a face massage with buttery soft hands….Who doesnt want that every morning huh?
What i would not recommend it for..
I would not use this for powder products, even though sigma says it can be used like that . It is way too dense and thick , and it picks up A LOT of powder at one go. So there are chances, that the powder can be layed on thick. I prefer a brush with much more fanned out bristles for powder products.,.
