The Royal Wedding: Kate Middleton’s Makeup & Hair

Rumour has it that Kate Middleton decided to do her makeup all by herself on her wedding day. What only added fuel to the rumour was her shopping at Lancome and Bobbi Brown a couple of days before the wedding( From what i read she picked up a cream and an eyeliner from Lancome, and a blush from Bobbi Brown) . Well, no one still knows who exactly did Kate Middletons’s makeup (Her hair was done by one James Pryce of the Richard Ward Salon ) but everyone has an opinion about it.

Kate has been quoted as saying that she wanted to look like herself on her wedding day, and that Will should be able to recognise her as she walked down the aisle …i think thats a lovely sentiment !

What i loved about it?

I loved that Kate looked radiant and very much like herself with a poppy  pink on her cheeks and a soft pink glossy lipstick on her lips. Her skin looked radiant and fresh and she did look every bit the beautiful bride to be. I also liked her hair, she didnt wear it up but she looked young and comfortable in it !

What i would have changed?
Even though Kate looked lovely, i would have done it slightly differently. When you have smallish eyes, and you go and put a thick black liner and dark taupe/grey eyeshadow on your top lid, you only end up making them look smaller. I really wish she had chosen a light shimmery color all over her lid instead of the intense darkness. I would have added a whole lot of lash drama to the look with fluttering long lashes.

Get the look
Apply a deep taupe color all over your lid and smoke it out. Apply a thick line of your favourite black eyeliner on you top lid. On the bottom lash line, apply a white on the inner waterline and then a black just below it. Apply a blush like MAC Fleur Power on your cheeks, and a llipstick like Maybelline Pink Petal topped with a lipgloss like MAC Pink Lemonade .

PS:  How gorgeous was that Alexander Mc Queen gown? Very Grace Kelly (Refer to my history o wedding dress post here. I loved how it fit on her, the deep V, and the net sleeves won me over) The silhouette was so modern but the lace and the sleeves were old school. Lovely!

PS: Also, wasnt the queen a picture of cuteness in canary yellow. Me wanted to pull her cheeks.

Ahhh!!! You did a KMiddy breakdown. Only thing I would have changed is to line the waterline of her lower lashes for that little extra oomph of definition. Otherwise, phenomenal.
