Mac Crosswires Lipstick

Once the pictures of my dads 50th birthday bash went up on facebook , i got two messages by two very important people in my life. One, from my cousin who said ‘ Did you see how nice your Mac Crosswires  lipstick was looking in the pictures???”. The other from the boy who said ‘ Why do you do these things? Bright lipsticks are only worn by aunties . You still look cute baby , but please…i am being blinded by the lips’… Sigh. Story of my life. Boy does not like ANY makeup. I mean zilch. If i even try to experiment with brights once  i always get this reaction. I dont understand. Is only my boy silly or are all boys like this?

Mac Crosswires Lipstick
Mac Cross wires Color :  Give me a neon bikini, a mojito , a beach and Mac Crosswires. It is such a fun color, it makes me want to party instantly. Mac describes this hottie as a clean pinky orange…essentially it is a coral which leans more orange than pink ! It definitely is an attention grabbing color, so not for the faint hearted, however the great thing about it is that it can be dressed up and worn full power for a night out, but it can also used sparingly with a muted gloss on top for just a pretty lip. Whichever way you do wear it, the color does grab attention, but in a good way (or so i hope)

General Thoughts on Cremesheen Finishes : Cremesheens, are one of my favourite finishes from Mac (along with Amplified Cremes). They are pigmented, have a shine to them , keep lips moisturized and last long. They are not sheer like Lustres are, and are definitely nicer for girls with pigmented lips like me, while still giving a shiny finish. They also  give totally opaque coverage if you want, while not weighing down or feeling heavy on the lips. Crosswires in particular is a lipstick that lasts longer on me than most other Cremesheen formula’s

Two FOTD’s with Mac Crosswires
Please tell the boy right or the sister? Honest Opinion!

Verdict: 4/5 or A-

Will I repurchase: No, one tube is enough

Price: Rs 990/-

Recommendation : It is a bright  coral which leans just slightly more orange than pink. I feel it is a brilliant  way to carry off a bright color without looking like an Oompa Loompa, like some corals can do!! You can work with it  to wear it full power, or muted down  for every day wear so its versatile…and it definitely looks great on most medium skin tones. Cremesheens in general are pigmented, long lasting and moisturizing and this has all three qualities.

Jut wanted to say this even though this is an old post. ALL BOYS ARE LIKE THIS! My guy hates bright lips, he keeps saying,” My eyes! My eyes.” Fuschia, coral, orange, red forget about it.. I’ll never hear the end of it. -__- The only bright colour he has appreciated so far is Haute Melon by Nyx. And you’re sister was right! :P

I came across your website while looking for coral lipstick shades for brown skintones – love your blog! It’s got alot of detail :)
My husband (I just got married too!) is the same. I LOVE bright lips and I just found out (literally, today) that he prefers subtle colours. Sigh. Atleast he likes dramatic eyes – the one thing I can’t compromise on!
