Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

in Skincare

During my undergrad college days not so long ago, i was part of the Western Dance Team. This basically meant staying back every single day and going through insane practice schedules, perpetual injuries,  ten hour dance sessions, the lack of a social life, a very very  fit body (Sniff..i miss you my dance body) …and a WHOLE LOT of cakey makeup on the face for shows. Ugh. It was aweful- removing all of that grime from my face after every competition. I really wish i had something like the Liz Earle cleanse  and Polish Tool with me at that time, because cleansing and removing makeup would have become a total breeze!

What in the world is this cleansing and hot polish thing?
Step 1: Take the cleanser and massage it on dry skin
Step 2: Rinse muslin cloth in warm water and wipe it off

Liz Earle Claims :
“We only make one cleanser because this formulation is the ultimate in concentrated yet gentle cleansing power and works on every age and skin type.
Our plant based cleanser has a two-phase action, phase one is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make up, even stubborn mascara.
Phase two is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to gently dislodge dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin.
Naturally active ingredients include eucalyptus and cocoa butter for smoother, clearer skin.

So now that i got the correct name in my head (Hey, in my defence it’s quite a mouthful !) , lets see how it fared shall we?

I always look at multitasking products that help me skip steps in everyday routines and this does exactly that! It makes me skip my makeup remover entirely. I can just use this, and not only will my face be rid of all the dirt and grime thats accumulated throughout the day, but it will take off all thats left of my lipgloss and eyeliner. It has a cream like consistency that you slather all over your face and then i just like to massage it into my skin.

Along with the cleanser, you get two muslin cloths to rinse under hot water and wipe your face with. You when you get a facial and they always rinse your face with a warm towel. Yeah..thats what this is supposed to do. Now, honestly the lazy bum in me is totally annoyed at the thought of having to wash this cloth after every use, but iv realized that dunking it into shampooed water does the job fairly well!

Apart from that, it leaves your fresh feeling clean and fresh without any tightness in your skin. My skin definitely feels a lot softer, and i think ‘Gentle Cleansing’ is the totally correct word for this. The way it smells is really a personal taste. The eucalyptus and chamomile can sometimes end up smelling kind of …medicinal..but somehow pleasant at the same time. Strange..i know! What is also nice is the mint green packaging. I dont know about you, but i dig every skincare product thats either aqua blue, mint green or any pastel colors.

Left to Right: Water Proof Mascara, Foundation, Kohl, Long Stay Flowing Lipstick, Lip Tint

On goes the cleanser- Rub-a-dub-dub

On goes goes the wet cloth

Doesn’t quite remove the waterproof mascara, but removes all else!

Overall Verdict: 4.5/5 or A

Would I repurchase: If this were more easily available in India i definitely would!

Recommendation: Totally love it. Cleanser +  Effective Makeup Remover rolled into one! Wont quite remove your waterproof mascara but it is  probably  one of the best cleansers i have tried till date. Gentle, but still leaving the skin feeling soft and supple
