Fall is here with all its different trends and it’s up to you which ones you want to follow and which ones you’ll pass. But THIS isn’t about fall’s fabulous trends. THIS is about clothing items which, according to me, should be part of every wardrobe, especially this season.
Tank tops aren’t just for the summers. With layering being one major trend this season, tank tops can be really handy. With layering, you can probably make five different outfits with just one tank top. And you don’t even have to be fancy with them. Plain, neutral colored tank tops work best this season. So your must-have colors would be blacks, greys, pale peaches, creams and whites. You can jazz them up with colored cardigans, pullovers, sweaters, scarves, jackets and of course, jewellery.
And these don’t even get useless when the season’s over. Because, obviously, you can wear them on their own during summer.
Jeans are the easiest things to wear. You don’t have to think too much before throwing on a pair of jeans. They are VERY ‘fall’. You can dress them up, dress them down. And if you’re a denim addict, they’ll be useful all year round.
I think, that if you have to have too many of something, it should be cardigans. Most people don’t pay much attention to them, but when you think about it, they can make a major difference to your outfit. Take a simple tank top and jeans, and throw on a fancy cardigan, and you’re good! Also, this way you’re following the ‘layering’ trend.
With cardigans it doesn’t really matter what color you pick. You can start with collecting neutral blacks and creams and go on and get the brightest of colors. They can be simple, they can be swanky, they can be plain, they can be fancy. It doesn’t matter.
While cardigans can give you a laid back air, blazers, on the other hand, give more of a classy, high fashion feel to your outfit. With blazers, the fit matters. So make sure you get the right size. Unless you’re opting for the over-sized look, of course. Because that’s cool too!
Blazers, too, are available in a number of absolutely amazing colors. But really, a simple black blazer beats them all. So I suggest starting with black.
Sundresses, according to me, are an all-season fashion must have. They’re useful all year round. As much as their name itself screams SUMMER, with a few add-ons they can be completely transformed into fall clothing. Sundresses are mostly light, pretty, sometimes floral dresses that are fresh and bright. Adding a solid colored blazer and probably tights or leggings under can help get rid of their summery feel.
Here’s an example…
Leggings are PERFECT for fall. They emphasize the layering trend and are so, so comfy. You can wear them under dresses or skirts, though I wouldn’t recommend them under shorts. I find that just wrong.
And if you want a more edgy look, and are bold enough to carry it off, go for tights. Many people think tights are just slutty, but I guess it depends on how you wear them. If you’re able to coordinate them correctly with your outfit and wear them with a whole lot of confidence, you can rock it.
So, well, that’s it. Most of these will be useful all year round and can be mixed and matched to create a million different outfits. And they aren’t the kind where you have to wait for a special occasion to wear them (well, except for the tights). So, yeah, hopefully that was helpful!
