The second edition of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2011, a much looked forward to event in the calendar of the Indian Fashion Industry, came to a grand end on 27th September 2011 with a fabulous, awe inspiring show by master couturier Tarun Tahiliani. Held over the last five days, The Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2011 offered a platform to India’s leading designers to dazzle in an extravaganza of design and glamour in aunique venue that redefined opulence & grandeur.

The backdrop of the Grand Finale was an architectural Gothic marvel of imposing arches and spires through which the models glided down and displayed the creative genius of one of India’s top couturiers. Some of the guests who attended the grande finale included Gauhar Khan, Tina Tahiliani, Pradeep Hirani, Kunika Singh, Lucky Morani, Mona Narang, Yasmin Morani, Walusha Robinson amongst many more of Tarun’s keen admirers.

Mr Vijay Singh, Mr Vivek Kumar and Marc Robinson also proudly announced the dates for Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2012, at the end of he grand finale show.
Tarun Tahiliani’s show was one of the most impressive Grand Finales seen in Mumbai as 55 gorgeous models appeared in stunning creations from one of India’s top designers. His stunning collection called “Artisanal” that ended the second Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2011 revealed a brilliant study of the best textiles, embellishments, jewels, stones and craft techniques. The structured drapes, the exquisite sharply cut silhouettes, along with the mix of Indian expertise and western layering gave the collection that awesome look.


Fashion and Event Director AVIBW- Marc Robinson add “ Producing an event of this magnitude is an Event Directors delight as never before in the fashion industry has such a large scale event been produced with such opulence and grandeur! This is just the beginning and there are plans as we speak to take AVIBW 2012, season three, to an all new level”

The last five days have seen dazzling Bridal Showings by some of the leading names in Indian fashion present their bridal statements for the season at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2011 in Mumbai. While Day One saw none other than Mallika Sherawat, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ameesha Patel scorch the ramp for Anjalee & Arjun Kapoor, Vikram Phadnis and Rocky S respectively, the second day of the AVIBW 2011 had Malaika Arora, Dia Mirza& Zayed Khan and the reigning Miss Indias walk for Bhairavi Jaikishan, Aarsh Gill and Queenie Singh.

The glamour quotient was upped on Day Three with the presence of Kangana Ranaut on the ramp, in full bridal splendour as she sashayed down the runway dressed in a lehenga by Jyostna Tiwari. Pallavi Jaikishan’s bridal designs paid rich tribute to the modern day gossamer bride in reds, vermillions, fuchsias and yellow.


Day Four saw dreamgirl Hema Malini sashay down the ramp with daughter Esha Deol, in bridal
threads by Neeta Lulla, while Shane & Falguni Peacock expressed their bridal statements on the sexy Sameera Reddy and Jackie Bhagnani.

Seen on the red carpet at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week have been guests such as Suzanne Roshan, Zarine Khan, Rhea Pillai, Pooja Bedi, Poonam Sinha, Nisha Javeri, tanaaz Doshi, Madhoo Shah, Laila Furniturewala, Nishka Lulla, Tanushree Dutta, Sophie Choudhury, Shahab Durazi, Aashish Chudhury, Mansi Scott, Prerna Goel, Rhea Pillai, Kunika Singh, Krishika Lulla, Tina Tahilaini amongst several others.


This was one fashion extravaganza that truly rocked the city with its stylish presentation, glamourous line up and trendsetting showcase of bridal fashion.

Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week is coming back in this September in Mumbai. I hope this time also it creates a new buzz in the fashion world like the last year.
