Which Gel Liner is your favourite? There is Mac, Loreal, Maybelline, Inglot, Bobbi Brown, Essence …

Out of the three i have tried (the 3 mentioned in the title) , i found the L’oreal one the best- so creamy and smooth its a dream to apply. The maybelline one REALLY stings my eye :(

I’ve got MAC fluidlines, Loreal HIP gel liners, Bobbi Brown inks, ELF gel liners (nearly identical in texture to Bobbi Brown inks & great staying power even in water), Coastal Scents (YUCK! worst of the lot), Stila smudge pots….a mountain of gel liners & cream shadows (some of which can be used as liners as well, such as Maybelline Color Tattoo).

My favorite, by far, are Stila smudge pots. They come in jars which are exactly like Loreal HIP gel liners. Solid, heavy glass. Their consistency is so incredibly smooth & easy to work with. All shades I own are incredibly pigmented, so one pass is all you need. I found this not to be the case with Loreal HIP liners. Their eggplant gel liner shade needs 2 or 3 passes to avoid patchiness). And the Stila ones last all day long. They don’t smudge at all, despite the name, but you can smudge them before they set. You can also lay down or smudge a beautiful eyeshadow over them. They don’t run, they don’t flake. They’re simply incredible.

Don’t overlook the ELF gel liners either, which are only $3 and wear like permanent marker. They come in some really nice colors & are totally waterproof, as well as smudgeproof even when they’re soaking wet. They’re also very pigmented & so similar to Bobbi Brown’s liners that it’s hard to tell them apart. They’re great for people on a budget. Actually, I don’t have a set makeup budget. I can pretty much buy whatever I want to. But I still keep on picking up more & more of the ELF liners. They’re that good!

Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of Maybelline at all. They constantly disappoint me, other than their Color Tattoo cream shadows/liners. Those are really worth picking up, although some of the shades apply very patchily. I have Tough As Taupe & Pomegranate Punk, which are both beautiful bases under powder shadows. Other than that, Maybelline is junk to me, unfortunately.
