Glitter, glamour, magnificence are words that come to mind when I think of Broadway, and that’s exactly how I feel about this Maybelline Color Sensational lip gloss. Broadway Bronze is a natural shade with beautiful shimmer particles. It has a tinge of bronze but not over the top making it a nice neutral shade which most skin tones can carry.
This particular shade has more shimmer than the others in the range and the glitter particles are clearly visible under flash. Under normal light the shimmer is subtle. I think Broadway Bronze is a lovely shade to be worn to weddings and celebrations. I usually prefer wearing this alone, but it looks good on top of lipsticks as well. I found the gloss to be very light and easy to apply. It doesn’t dry out my lips either. The staying power is okay. They are decently pigmented but not enough to fully cover my pigmented lips. I’m not too fond of the smell, but it isn’t putting off that I won’t wear the gloss. I prefer my glosses and lipsticks to be fragrance free. The packaging is pretty and easy to handle, but the only mention of the brand and the shade is in a small sticker on the bottom. I wish they had mentioned Maybelline somewhere easily visible. The swatches on the Maybelline website are nowhere near the real colour. Cranberry cocktail a beautiful red shade is swatched as a pinkish shade. But, Maybelline is easily available in most major cities, so the incorrect swatches on the website don’t really matter.
What I Like
- Nice colour range
- Easy to apply – the applicator is easy to use
- Non-sticky and moisturizing
- Decently pigmented
What I don’t really like
- I don’t like the smell.
- Wish the lasting power was more
Overall Verdict: 3.5/5 or B+
Would I repurchase? Yes. I would like to pick out other shades from the range. The colour range is nice and the price reasonable. Some shades are nicely pigmented like ‘Hooked on Pink’ and ‘Cranberry Cocktail’.
Price: Rs. 250/-
