“What’s  in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”- Shakespeare

Obviously Mr. Shakespeare had no clue about the subtleties of Lipstick names-I mean can you imagine him shopping for a lippie for his Girl & asking the Sales assistant at store “Rosy Nude “& “Soft Rose” “What’s in a name??
Revlon’s Colorburst Range redefined the drugstore lippie and have become a cult classic. I snagged 6 shades in CB range! Yay! The latest shade being 040 Soft Rose, I had a sneaky suspicion that it would look too much like CB Rosy Nude (shade no. 065)

The Packaging-Black matte square tube has a very Dior-esque quilted pattern on two sides the stamping of Revlon logo on the lipstick gives it a tre`s chic look. The top of the lipstick tube is capped by a small plastic shade swatch. Its exact shade of the lipstick and makes storing and sorting your lippies in rush incredibly easy.

The Shade- A beautiful creamy rose color which leaves a nice moist sheen. This shade is neither too bright pink nor too dark & dusty

Revlon CB Soft Rose is touted as NARS lipstick Dolce Vita dupe, though shades do look pretty close but I feel NARS Dolce Vita is much sheerer than the creamy texture of Revlon CB Soft Rose.
Revlon CB Rosy Nude is more muted brownish rose while the Soft Rose is much brighter pink in comparison.

Left: Rosy Nude, Right: Soft Rose

A single swipe of the shade leaves a sheer tint but 2-3 swipes really build up the color. The pigmentation is good and it lasts around 3 hours on my lips. It’s not very moisturizing but not drying either. It would look beautiful on all medium to deeper skin tones.
Priced at Rs 580/- it’s a definite must buy for those on the lookout for lovely rosy lips.
