We’ve all been there exposing our skin to excess scrubbing or cleansing or using harsh chemicals, but we dont really realise that the facial skin is very delicate and is often exposed to harsh climates and treatments. Moisturizing is a way of keeping the skin hydrated and I’d been hopping from one moisturizer to another trying to find one that suits me till I landed on Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturiser SPF15.

According to Neutrogena their Oil Free Moisturiser SPF15 is “Non-greasy, dermatologist-recommended lotion keeps skin moisturized for 12 hours. PABA-free SPF 15 sunscreen helps prevent premature signs of aging caused by the sun’s damaging UVA and UVB rays. Its sheer formula absorbs quickly into skin and contains no drying alcohol. Skin is left feeling softer and smoother. This allergy-tested formula contains no fragrance, no dyes, and no excess ingredients. Non-comodogenic, so it won’t clog pores that can cause skin breakout”.
My skin is very sensitive and oily and it tends to react to a lot of products adversely. I’d been searching for a facial moisturizer for long; most moisturizers made my skin excessively oily or made me break out. Neutrogena Oil-Free Facial Moisturiser was just the thing I was looking for. It is light weight, gets easily absorbed into my skin; didn’t leave a greasy film behind; didn’t break out my skin; and the added SPF was a bonus. It doesn’t have any fragrance which I loved because I have a sensitive nose which tends to cringe to most smells. The moisturiser contains no parabeans as well.

On rainy days I just use this and top it up with lacto calomine to get a matte effect. In summers SPF 15 isn’t enough; I mix Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 50+ along with the moisturizer and use it on my face and neck. Only a small quantity of the product is required for face and neck and it’s a great value for money. It also has a long shelf life of 2 years. I like the packaging, the white bottle looks neat and clean. The cap has a locking mechanism so its travel friendly as well. Twist the cap to make the pump work and twist it back to the original position to lock it, so you don’t have to worry about it spilling while travelling.
What I Like
  • Light weight and gets easily absorbed into the skin
  • Great value for money – only a small amount is required
  • Free of parabeans
  • Easily available
  • It has a pump making it hygienic to remove the product and the locking mechanism makes it travel friendly
  • Fragrance free

What I don’t really like
  • Should not be used around the eyes
  • Has only SPF 15
  • May not suit dry skin
 Overall Verdict: 4/5 or A-

Would I recommend it?  Yes. I would purchase it again. It’s a blessing for sensitive oily skinned people like me and it is also affordable at the same time.
Price: Rs. 299/- for 115 ml
