Hot chocolate fudge topped with vanilla ice cream topped with warm chocolate sauce, sounds yummy doesn’t it! That’s how The Body Shop’s Cocoa Butter Body Butter feels like; Sweet, soft and unbelievably luscious.

According to The Body Shop site their Cocoa Butter Body Butter is “Doubly rich for extra dry skin with a yummy chocolate-and-vanilla scent. An excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth for up to 24 hours. Containing Community Trade shea and cocoa butter. Cocoa butter – Is an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth. Shea butter – Moisturizes and helps soften the skin.”

Remember the Ponds Googly Woogly Woosh ad, where the characters pull the soft cheeks of pretty girls, this product leaves a similar feeling on the skin. I can’t stop touching my skin when I use TBS cocoa butter. The pro of having a sibling who loves the things you love is the fact you get to try a lot of products without actually buying them. My sister bought this body butter and I took it from her to try it and I never gave it back (*evil grin*). It smells sweet and yummy and it moisturizes the skin well at the same time. It doesn’t take long to get absorbed into the skin either. A little bit of rubbing and you are left with soft skin with a cocoa buttery fragrance. The fragrance lasts long, but I wish it would last all day. Since it is a body butter it is a bit thick and might feel heavy to be used in summer. I like the tub packaging, it is easy to use and it ensures every bit of the body butter is used up. It is a bit expensive but the pros are high to ignore the tag. To say in a nut shell I absolutely love this product.

What I Like

  • The heavenly fragrance. Smells absolutely divine and sumptuous
  • Fragrance lasts long
  • Moisturizes the skin well. I can’t stop touching my skin when I use this
  • Gets absorbed easily into the skin
  • Only a small quantity of the product is required each time
  • Convenient and easy to use packaging

What I don’t really like

  • Might be a bit heavy for summer use
  • It is expensive for the amount you get

Overall Verdict: 4.5/ 5  or A

Price: Rs. 745/- for 200 ml

Recommendation:  I would love to stock up on TBS Cocoa Body Butter, but the price hurts my wallet a bit! If you do see this on sale though, go and grab it- specially during winters, its unbelievably luscious and moisturizing.

Hi Preeti. Thanks. I haven’t smelled or used the Shea Butter one. So, I wouldn’t be able to guide you here. TBS outlets have trial packs so you can test it on your hand and see how it feels.

I’ve used the cocoa butter and strawberry butter. I love them both, but cocoa is more moisturising and will suit better for winters. I sometimes pick the fragrance depending on my mood.
