Lush Skin Drink Cream Review
WRitten by: guest blogger Surabhi
When it comes to skincare, Lush is one of my firm favourites !I adore its products as they are fresh and hand made with organic ingredients and that is why they pose no side effects. Only little drawback is that they are quite expensive and ordering them online is even costlier.  The Lush Skin Drink Cream is my go-to moisturizer  in winters and I love it. It is highly moisturizing and does not leave room for re-application.

What Lush Claims –
Rich moisturiser to refresh and rehydrate parched skin. This is our rich, thick cream to turn rough, dry skin into soft, supple skin for as long as you continue to use it. A delicious blend of sesame, almond and evening primrose oils to moisturise, organic avocado to soften and nourish and calming rose oil, all mixed up in soothing aloe vera. This is an impressive, rehydrating cream. Give thirsty skin the drink it needs.

Ingredients –
Rose Water, Aloe Vera Decoction, Sesame Oil, Rose Petal Infusion, Fresh Avocado, Almond Oil, Propylene Glycol, Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Evening Prim Rose Oil, Neroli Oil, Rose Absolute, Triethanolamine, Geranoil, Farnesol, Limonene, Linalool, Methylparaben, Propylparaben
How to Use –
Put a dab on your fingertip and pat gently onto clean, slightly damp skin. A little bit goes a long way. It can be used in the morning after toning and in the evening after cleansing and toning. If you are travelling, may we suggest that you check the lid for tightness and then place it in a zip-lock bag so that you don’t end up moisturizing your luggage.

My Review –The cream is heavily moisturising which is a great thing for winters. The best part of this super moisturizer is that once you apply it in the morning, you don’t have to re-apply it until late evening.  You skin remains soft and supple through out the day. Texture wise, it is thick and luscious like Body Butter but doesn’t feel extra greasy. Infact it gets absorbed quickly and your skin really does drink it up (true to its name!)

The cream is lightly scented with a pleasant aroma  , so you can happily slather this all across your body. I would not use it in summers but I would always use it in drying winters. Make sure to use it quickly as Lush products have short shelf life since they are fresh made with natural products

. My experience with Lush  Online was great . I got a call from their Bangalore office and the person said that their stock of Skin Drink was not fresh so they wanted me to wait for a week for the fresh stuff to arrive. When I got my creams after a week, I could feel the freshness! This is Lush for you.
So if you are looking for a long day application of moisturizing dry skin, this is the cream for you.

Overall Verdict: A
Price: Rs 1080/- for 45 gms

Recommendation: Its a fabulous cream for dry skin-specially during winters- my skin drinks it up and i dont need another application till late evening. Im not sure about how well this thick moisturizer would work for oily skin, or during summers but as a winter moisturizer it does its job!

Lush really amazes me with their blatant false advertising of being ‘organic’, ‘natural’ and ‘fresh’. Their ingredients label for just this product, never mind others, is a testament to that. Methylparaben, propylparaben (two preservatives in widespread use by the skin care & cosmetics industries) propylene glycol…..their products can and do sit on shelves much longer than they proudly spout. I’ve got 2 of their products which claim on their labels an expiry date 6 months from production. They have been on my shelf for 1-1/2 years. I bought them to run this test & see just how ‘fresh’ they are. Lush’s claims are rubbish. In addition, the 3 obvious chemicals listed in the product reviewed here are known common skin irritants. Add these facts to another, namely that Lush uses whacks of synthetic fragrances and unnecessary colorants in their products (many people I know, including myself, get physically ill just walking by Lush stores due to the harsh chemical fragrances spewing out of them) and it’s plain to see that they have never been honest about what goes into their products, much less their ‘freshness’ due to being ‘hand made’. Their products remain ‘fresh’ because they use chemical preservatives. No other reason. They also have a typical shelf life of many other skin care & cosmetic products. And to add insult to injury, the criminal prices they charge for their products are much higher per gram/ounce than comparable products from other companies. I have no respect for this company at all.
