Bourjois Smokey Eyes Trio Lady Vert De Gris
Guest Review by Dhara

Dark smokey eyes have been my favorite this winter. From the classic black-brown to blues and greens, I experimented with every shade I wore. On the look-out for some more dark shades, I found the Bourjois Smokey eyes Trio in Lady Vert De Gris being featured on some blog and immediately got intrigued. Though I had thought it to be in the tones of Olive green which I absolutely looove so I was a little surprised when the I saw the trio in person, since it really isnt that much green in tone!

The Trio

Bourjois Smokey Eyes Trio in Lady Vert De Gris is quite an intense colored trio in shades of khaki- brown. The darkest shade is sort of a blackened bronze with fine bronzey shimmer which gives the shadow a subtle sheen. The medium shade is not as pigmented as the dark one and only provides a hint of brown with sheen. Now the upside of the downside of this color is that it could make a nice neutral brown eye shadow with a sheen which wouldn’t overpower the look. So me still likes it :D. The lightest color is a highlighter which is super shiny! This one is the most pigmented of the three so you got to be careful while picking this up. Its a whitish silver with just a teeny weeny hint of brown. Normally I don’t use a highlighter when I am doing smokey eyes but the darkest shade is so intense that I could use this highlighter to just give the overall look a bit of softness and add sparkle to the eye :)

The Texture

Silky, easy to blend and 8 hr wear is what the company says and cute packing, thoughtful brush(though I doubt anyone uses these). These have just about okayish pigmentation is what I say- they get picked up by sponge tip applicators really well, but the pigmentation drops if used with an eyeshadow brush. We all know how these trios are to be used, right ? Anyways, the darkest shade goes for sculpting( on the lid), the medium one is for blending( crease) and the lightest one is for illuminating( brow bone and inner corner)

Because i have super oily lids, they do begin to crease in two hours even with  a primer underneath, but on others they might stay put . if these colors dont catch  your fancy then check out Bourjois Smokey Eye Trio in Nude Ingenue.

Overall Verdict :  A-

Price: Rs. 645 /-
Recommendation: The Bourjois Smokey Eyes Trio are a  good budget buy with three eyeshadows in tones of khaki- brown! Ofcourse, these may not have the texture of MAC or Inglot but for what you pay, you get your moneys worth..
Editors Note: To get the best results with these, use these with a sponge tip applicator, or use them wet !

Ooh this looks nice…but no green at all in this like you say. I got the Or Baroque trio..that has all olive and light green shades. Very pretty indeed. But I found it isn’t as pigmented as I’d like it to be. But the colours are wonderful!

Hey! Yup i have the one in Nude Ingenue, and i find that with a sponge tip pplicator they appy the best. They lost pigmentation with a brush!

I got these in the purple and the pink…I think the pigmentation is the best when applied wet… I want the rich brown one now – Mordore Chic

I love this blog and am getting introduced to the world of make up through it. Thank you.

Just one suggestion:
Could you please also mention for each product where it can be bought. I am mostly left wondering how to go about buying most of these products.

Happy writing

Thanks to Lady Gaga beiges and greens mixed with greys are the newest and freshest produce on the block….very nice colors but they really dont last that long even on a primer…have u tried dusting ur lids with translucent powder, applying primer and then applying the shadow with a damp brush?
