Faces Glam on Cream Blush Rose Quartz
Me thinks  It’s very important for your personality to match your name .For example, when I was born, the Pandit-ji took out the letter ‘L’ and suggested to my mom that she should name me “Leelavati”. Umm..better sense prevailed on my mommy and she said, “My kid will not be a Leelavati, she will be a Mehak”  (Thanks Mom..Phew!!!!). But you g et the point right? Peaches & Blush could have never been written by a Leelavati (Sorry to the Leelavati’s of the world no offense!). The same way when it comes to  makeup products , their names should match their personality too. Take for example Faces Rose Quartz Cream Blush, which is not Rosey from any angle ! It’s a classic case of a name-personality mismatch!!

Faces Rose Quartz- The Color

The Faces Rose Quartz Cream Blush stares up at me looking all beige and concealer like and confuses the life out of me. Is this supposed to be a blush? Is it supposed to be a highlighter? Is it supposes to be a concealer? Honestly, i don’t know. As a cream blush, i cannot think of any skin tones that can carry this off. This is not a honey golden beige that lighter skintones can carry, neither is it a shimmery warm beige that can be worn as a hghlighter. It is simply a matte, creamy whitish beige that just cannot be used as a blush! As a highlighter, nope not that either- it’s not shimmery nor does it have an obvious glow. As a concealer- nope it doesn’t conceal or blend in either. So really, the only way left to use Rose Quartz by Faces is as a base for powder blushes to be layered on. It makes the powder blushes stick on to it, and elongates their wear time so you can use it as a cheek primer of sorts i guess.

General Thoughts on Faces Cream Blushes

I have the Faces Cream Blush in Peach Glow  and on the basis of that i can say that I found these blushes to be well pigmented- you can build up the color  for a very pigmented look but go lighter for a sheerer color. I prefer blushes with this quality since they are more versatile and easy to work with. In terms of texture, they are a bit different to other cream blushes i have tried. They dont have the creamy texture of Nyx, and its not as thick and sticky as the MAC Creme Blend blushes, these are  somewhat …not so liquidy ..if that makes sense. I actually found these harder to blend than the Nyx Blushes- i felt i had to go over them again for it to seemlessly seep into my skin while with Nyx blending is a total breeze. They do give that nice dewy cheek , but the lasting power is just about 5 hours or so.

Faces Rose Quartz Cream Blush Swatch

Overall Verdict: C

Price: Rs 399/-

Recommendation: Faces Rose Quartz Cream Blush is not a color i can see anyone being able to carry off as a blush. The only use i found of it was to use it a base for powder blushes. The other cream blushes in this range are actually pretty nice, so i recommend you check out some other one like Peach Glow
