Forest Essential Sesame Oil Review
If you grew up in India in the nineties, you would have definitely been prey to the “Lijjat Papad” Ads. You know- the *kurram kurram* ones (its been stuck in my head for a week) with those huge psycho bunnies munching on papads . Hello, Bunnies are not supposed to munch on papads, they are supposed to be small and furry and eat carrots. Another thing you would have been taught in the nineties – Oil is not supposed to be put on your face, its supposed to be put on your hair overnight once a week! But with the Forest Essential Sesame Oil, i beg to differ.

What it claims:

The key process for any oil, when it comes to quality, is ‘Cold Pressing’. This means that the oil has been extracted by a natural method which doesn’t damage essential fatty acids.
• Cold Pressed • Organic • Nutrient Rich • Unrefined
Cold pressed black unrefined Sesame oil, is regarded as one of the best oils for massage. It has high lecithin content renowned for mood elevation, and is extremely nutrient rich for nourishing and toning the skin.

One of the best things about beauty blogging, is getting to know about products which usually you would never have given a second look to, and for me the Forest Essentials Sesame Oil is one of them. I mean, when i have pretty pots of color calling out my name, there is little chance that a modest yellow liquid in a bottle would attract me. But i am glad it did, because this has now become part of my everyday skincare routine.

How do use the Forest Essentials Sesame Oil?
  • I use this to remove my makeup , its really effective as a makeup remover
  • In Winters, i use this as a night cream and just massage it into my skin. It feels nice and hydrates it for the next morning
  • Because my skin is as dry as the sahara desert, i often layer this oil with a night cream so i have enough moisture.
  • I make homemade scrubs with coffee beans and sugar, and i mix this in with it.
  • It actually helped my skin clear up. I have good skin usually, but occasionally (in winters) i get a few spots. This helped clear those up
The nice things about this oil is that it gets absorbed into my skin really really quickly and doesnt just sit there. I just like the feel of taking it in my fingers and gently moving them over my face. Ofcourse i do go overboard sometimes and my face ends up looking like an oil fest, but you can always wipe it off, and beside i am going to sleep anyway. (Though if i am dreaming of Brad Pitt, i might want to reconsider looking like an oil fest). Sesame Oil in itself has a lot of nutrients and Vitamins and stuff which i am sure a google search will tell you all about (Vitamin knowledge is not my thing), but the interesting thing is that it is used in a lot of Anti Ageing creams because one of its properties is that it helps tighten facial skin, while still keeping it nourished. Yes, i would like that please!

Its not a light oil, its a thick consistency- much thicker than your regular Parachute oil, but it still seems to seep in pretty well!

Overall Verdict :A

Price: Rs. 395 for 200 ml bottle

Will I Repurchase: Yes

Recommendation: The Forest Essentials Cold Pressed Sesame Oil is a part of my skincare routine that i cant do without in winters. It acts as my night cream plus makeup remover and provides intense moisture for my skin. If you are a dry skinned girl like me you will probably enjoy this!

hey Mehak, I have sensitive combination skin, currently am in Hyd (which has dry to very dry weather) and work in an MNC with crazy air conditioning. When I read your winter skin care routine, I was excited and wanted to try this oil….but was scared of the zits I just got cured of… Can you please tell me if I can include this oil to eliminate the under eye lines which shocked me recently ??? also will this help as a normal moisturiser for my kinda skin during the night ??? Please respond.

Hi! I think FE has discontinued this but I have been using Neutrogena Body Oil for a few weeks now (It’s a sesame oil but not cold-pressed and contains a few other ingredients). If you’re looking for a budget product I can’t recommend this enough!! It’s really light and melts into the skin. I apply it before bed and wake up with the smoothest skin! You can also use it before or after a shower; it works great then too.
