Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Lotion Review
Written by Guest Writer DA

Let me tell you a bit about my skin. My skin was getting out-of-control-dry with the approaching (and now full fledged) winters. As all regular college going girls know, strokes of ruthless chilled wind against the face makes it dry with twice the speed. Add to that my combination skin which is sensitive too and i have myself a whole bucket full of woes. It is unable to bear oily moisturisers until and unless it is really really wintery or else i develop acne really fast. Because of this, i mostly opt for water-based moisturisers, but a negative side to them is that they get rubbed and washed off at the slightest of effort. So these winters after trying my hand at a couple of moisturisers i became tired and planned to see a dermatologist. But luckily, my friend told me to try this product called Vaseline Moisture Locking lotion

Vaseline Moisture Locking Lotion Claims:Healthy skin naturally repairs itself. But many factors –from the environment to heredity- can negatively affect this ability and lead to severe dryness.
Vaseline Moisture Locking Lotion triples moisture reserves instantly, hen fills tiny gaps in skin to lock moisture in all day, promoting the proper environment dry skin needs to repair itself.
# Glycerine: instantly triples moisture
#Occlusives: help lock moisture in all day

This Vaseline moisturizer prevented and treated my dry skin, protected my  sensitive skin and improved the texture of my skin a bit. For extremely dry, cracked skin also this product is preferable,as it is more lasting than creams and are more effective in preventing water evaporation. And it is also better than any water based or oily lotions because it has Glycerine and also, it doesn’t get off that easily.
Moisturizers or emollients are essentially mixtures of chemical agents specially designed to make the external layers of the skin softer and more pliable, by increasing its water content by reducing evaporatio and this is exactly what it does.
The packaging of this product is nice, almost medical with its plain white backdrop. Plus it claims to be hypoallergenic and unfragranced(which is good as i am sensitive).

Ingredients: Water, Glycerine, Petrolatum,Stearic acid, Glycol stearate, Stearamide AMP, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone, Isopropyl isostearate, Tapioca starch, Carbomer, Cetyl alcohol, Glyceryl monostearate, Magnesium aluminium silicate, Disodium EDTA,Ethylene brassylate, Methyl paraben, Phenoxyethanol, Propyl paraben, Titanium dioxide.

Pros of Vaseline Moisture Locking Lotion-# really lives upto its claim of “moisture locking”.

# is unfragranced – it however has a very mild medicinal smell which does not irritate. Is a good product for you if you are sensitive to strong smells.

#No one can say that its greasy. Its plain moisture. Not at all greasy to touch.

#hypoallergenic: really lives up to this claim as well. Didn’t break me out.

Cons of Vaseline Moisture Locking Lotion
# Takes some time to absorb in the skin. It sits on the skin for a little while before getting absorbed completely. This doesn’t bother me much, though, as i wash my face at night, apply this and go to bed.

Overall Verdict: A

Price: Rs.200 for 400 ml/-

Recommendation: I love this moisturizer. It really keeps my skin very very moisturized during chilly winters, without feeling greasy . It takes some time to get absorbed into the skin, but overall its a great moisturizer for winter
