YSL Touche Eclat Review

in Concealer, Face Products, Reviews, YSL

If someone came up to me and asked me “Have you tried the Touche Eclat Maam” ? I would say “That sounds lovely, can you serve it with a cup of hazelnut flavoured coffee” . It honestly sounds like a French pastry to me, or maybe its just my hunger pangs that are driving me crazy. But one look at the sleek gold packaging of the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer,  and it almost seems like a shiny gold wand right out of Harry potter. Obviously, we muggle folks cannot just magically make our dark circles disappear, hence we need it more!!

Ysl Claims  “The beauty secret of the world’s top makeup artists and models,  YSL Touche Éclat is the original must-have for a radiant, flawless face.Capture 8 hours of sleep with the click of a pen. With a few strategic strokes of this award-winning complexion highlighter—dark circles, fine lines and signs of fatigue virtually disappear. Powered by the radiance-boosting Luminocaptide Complex, skin is instantly illuminated, so you look rested and refreshed—even if you’ve been up for hours. Sleek and sophisticated, it discretely slips into a makeup bag for quick touch-ups anytime. It’s the one beauty essential no woman should ever be without.”

YSL Touche Eclat

My view

I have to admit there is something very addictive about cool , golden metal in your hands early morning! Specially when it comes with concealing properties, its easy to fall into that trap of whipping out your golden magic wand in front of everyone to make them envious!! Anyhow, the YSL Touche Eclat delivers on a lot of fronts as a concealer- it really depends on what you are looking for.

If you are someone with horrible dark circle, im talking the kinds which will put panda’s to shame, then this is probably not the best concealer for you. The YSL Touche Eclat definitely conceals and then some, but for heavy duty nights of studying  talking to significant other on phone till 5 am (do people do that??)  or partying till dawn , this will not erase  all of those deep purple circles the morning the after. If you are a normal human being however, and have light – medium dark circles and are looking for a solid concealer to wipe up all  those traces away then this one is definitely for you!

What makes the YSL touche Eclat stand out really is that besides its concealing properties, it has this amazing ability to make your under eye look brighter – instantly waking you  up. Its like your morning cup of coffee- except this one wont get you fat! It also has the perfect consistency as a concealer- its light and creamy and is a total breeze to apply. Click Click.  Blend Blend. Conceal Conceal! You are done! It lasts the whole day and doesnt budge , ensuring that you dont transform back into the Panda you woke up as ! Its become a staple in my makeup routine ever since i got my hands on it, but i switch to my other concealers when i need more coverage.

YSL Touche Eclat Before and After

Left: BEfore Concealer, Right: After YSL Touche Eclat

Overall Verdict : A

Product: 4/5 , Coverage: 3.5/5, Longevity:5/5, Texture:5/5, Packaging & Value : 3.5/5

Price: Rs 2186/- Approx (It was gifted)

Recommendation: Its one of those magic wands that isntantly brightens your eyes and makes you look all wide awake ! It does not have very heavy coverage, so if you have a major dark circle problem then this is not for those days. Its a question really of whether you think spending this much is worth a light weight concealer that has amazing highlighting properties for your under eye area . I would repurchase it !

Shivangi January 14, 2012 at 5:17 am

I don’t think I can spend this much on a concealer, but its def in my wish list!

mehak January 14, 2012 at 5:48 am

I know ! 2000 is like 4 t shirts for me !!

tanveer January 14, 2012 at 6:13 am

It sounds really good & I can see the difference it makes to your eyes, I’m kinda sold on the prdt – but like you said – it is like 3-4 tops. I wish they came out with a smaller version. Do you still have the colorbar one that is said to be a copy of this? Are they really dupes?

mehak January 14, 2012 at 6:22 am

if yr talking about the colorbar radiant touch pen then no thats not a dupe.Thats shimmery and its a highlighter, so i dont use it under the eyes at all….this one is mre concealer..

Kritika January 14, 2012 at 6:27 am

It gives a more natural look yaar . . . Beautiful and very natural. Not a made up look.

Eesha January 16, 2012 at 5:34 am

I have seen a lot of people using it more as an under eye highlighter. I have never used it, though.

mehak January 16, 2012 at 5:42 am

Hey yes it’s a concealer plus highlighte r . That’s why it brightens the eye instantly!

Eesha January 16, 2012 at 6:43 am

For my dark circles, it will not do wonders if it doesn’t give nice coverage.

mehak January 16, 2012 at 7:41 am

Yaaa…i use it for everyday but on days with badd dark circles, i use the inglot one

swastika January 16, 2012 at 7:14 am

I would love to own this..I hope Santa sends this to me next year!

Tejal January 16, 2012 at 8:38 am

Heyy!! Nice review!! Btw…I read somewhere that the secret is to use Touche eclat as a highlighter and not a concealer….yeah got that link :P….about.com review says:-

“The secret is to use it as a highlighter, not a concealer. Apply a bit under the eyes, above the brow, in the creases of the jowls (along your nose) and under the chin. Then pat in with the pad of your finger. One great tip is to look in the mirror with your chin down. Apply Touche Eclat to the dark shadowed spaces.”

mehak January 16, 2012 at 8:44 am

Hi tejal,
Yup use it as an under eye highlighter+ concealer only..but usng it under brows..thats a new one..will try thanks :)

Tejal January 16, 2012 at 3:13 pm

hey, been looking for a good under eye concealer for myself and for my mum too [ she doesnt wear under eye concealers , but i want to get her started :)] Currently using bobbi browns but not really happy with it. Live in Dubai, so what are my options? Would love your feed back. Thanks!

Maliha Intikhab May 11, 2012 at 11:15 pm

I have heard that Maybelline and Milani have dupes for this product but nothing works better than the Golden YSL beauty!

Praks August 6, 2012 at 5:45 pm

I don’t have dark circles but I have redness on my cheeks will it cover?

mehak August 6, 2012 at 6:02 pm

This is only for eyes!

Shagun February 1, 2014 at 2:59 pm

Mehak, what color shade are you wearing?

Ashima March 8, 2014 at 7:56 pm

A few questions Mehak about this. I have been using it since sometime buy I am not sure of I do it the right way?!

Is this supposed to be applied only under the eye?
I am assuming that it’s supposed to be applied using the fingers?
