EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm Review

By Guest Writer Lapanika

Do you remember, our history textbooks which described the evolution of mankind, the one where it starts from gibbons and originates into homo sapiens (fancy Latin name for humans) ?? As a kid , I literally thanked God , I was not born as a chimpanzee. Eventually as I grew up, I thanked even more, guess why? . I wouldn’t have been introduced to waxing … that gibbon thing is super hairy , I wouldn’t have had a parlorwali aunty ,who would give me discounts on retail products, ( Although, she still made profit on that discounted product too , hmm !!) And most importantly, no dolling up, no shopping, no gadgets, and no EOS Lipbalms either!

Eos Claims “ Lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.”

My experience :

I saw a lot of reviews on you tube , read in the US magazines and how people raved about it and I snatched this one at my local drugstores. The one I have is in Sweet mint. Its spherical and egg like in shape with a twist off top which is pale yellow and dome shaped  ( resembles Nivea Milk n Honey in color). How cute is this look? I mean standard plastic tubes are so common, but EOS, really changed the way in terms of packaging the product.I guess I am obsessed with the looks here. When I used it first time, I applied at night and went off to bed. The product is not waxy or does not leave a layer of wax behind. It glides on super smoothly. It does have a strong peppermint smell , so much that at times, I have eaten that scent ( Ya , that’s me , does anyone else do that ?). Unless, you just don’t like polarizing scents. It hydrates your lips and you do not reach out for this for reapplication unlike, other chapsticks. I am so crazy about this, that I carry it everywhere with me. I love that the quantity is decent 0.25 ounces of lip balm as compared to chapsticks which are just 0.15 ounces and considering that we reach out for our tubes again and again. No wonder, why people love it so much.
I also use it as a Lip primer under my lipstick and it does last for 3 hours or so with a light snack and some water.

  • Summer fruit
  • Lemon Drop SPF 15
  • Strawberry Sorbet
  • Honeysuckle Honeydew
  • Medicated Tangerine
  • Sweet mint ( That’s the one I have )

The pros and cons are

  1. I love that it is made from beeswax, coconut oil, Shea butter. Organic and natural
  2. No parabens ,petrolatum or phthalates
  3. Very moisturizing , without any residues
  4. Love the ergonomic packaging
  5. Quantity of the product is decent as compared to standard chap sticks
  6. Even though this particular flavor doesn’t have SPF , they do have Lemon Drop SPF 15, to make up .

  1. A bit pricy as compared to other chap sticks
  2. Availability in India

Overall Verdict :  A+

Price : $2.96 -$4 approximately
Will I Repurchase : Yes , I am going to get, the other flavors .Especially EOS Lemon Drop and  EOS Summer Fruit.
Recommendation : EOS Sweet Mint Lipbalm is clear , non-tinted lipbalm which moisturizes your lips without a greasy feel on your lips . It lasts for about 3 hours plus without the need of reapplication. It is 95% organic and 100% natural, not tested on animals plus USDA Organic approved. So far, I feel it is a winner in the lip balm market, plus its cute and looks like an egg. Who doesnt want an egg in their purse?
