Pond’s Flawless White Re-brightening Night Treatment Review

Guest Review by Sangeeta

I’ve never been a person who likes whitening products. I love my wheatish Indian complexion , but I wouldn’t say no to products which lighten the imperfections on my skin, removes my tan and make my face look more radiant. I was gifted the Ponds Flawless White Re-brightening Night Treatment by a friend after my skin reacted very badly to a facial. I was a little sceptical on seeing the name ‘Flawless White’. I started using this in the hope that it would be more of re-brightening treatment and that’s what it has been – it brightened my skin and lightened the marks.

Ponds claims about its Flawless White Night Treatment:

  • Helps rejuvenate skin by repairing daily skin damage and actively whitens while asleep
  • Extra nourishing and hydrating formula enriched with VAO-B3 complex, works overnight for best results
  • Helps revitalize and visibly brighten tired skin
  • Nourishes skin, making it soft and smooth
  • Light and non-greasy formula, easily absorbed

My Experience with Ponds Flawless White Re-Brightening Night Treatment

I’ve been using this product for a few months now, and I am happy with it. This is my first night cream and it hasn’t disappointed me, though there are a few cons. My skin was left very sensitive after a bad facial experience. My skin was reacting adversely to the products I used regularly and in just days after the facial my skin went from manageable to disaster. I was desperate to reverse the damage and this this Re-brightening Night Treatment / cream has helped me a lot.

The Ponds Flawless White Night cream is a bit heavy and it needs a bit of rubbing to get into the skin. It doesn’t leave a matt finish either; there is a mild oily sheen it leaves behind. But it made my skin really soft. Every time I used this I found that my skin felt softer the next day, and with continued usage it lightened the marks on my skin. The instructions do not say that the cream shouldn’t be used around the eye, but when I used it the delicate skin around my eyes started burning. I used this 3-4 times a week in summer as I found the night cream to be a bit heavy to be used every day as it made my skin extra oily. Now that summer is over I use it every day. I don’t like the packaging much as I have to dip my fingers in to remove the product every time. I would have preferred a tube packaging but the cream is a bit heavy to be in tube form. Since I haven’t used any night cream before I wasn’t sure about the price range, but I felt this was a tad expensive. I am almost through with this tub and I am on a hunt for another night cream and I would love to get some suggestions on what I could try next.

What I Liked about Ponds Flawless White Night Treatment

  • It made my skin soft and smooth
  • It lightened the marks on my skin
  • It moisturized my skin

What I don’t really like

  • I found it a tad expensive
  • Is a bit heavy to be used every day in summer and a bit unhygienic to use as you have to dip your fingers to remove the product
  • Takes some time to get absorbed into the skin an caused the delicate skin around my eyes to burn

Overall Verdict :B+

Price: Rs. 449/- for 50 gms

Recommendation : Even though the cons seem to more than the pros listed, the cons  can be easily overlooked as the end result delivered by the Ponds Flawless White  Re-brightening Night Treatment is good. It helped me and I might purchase it again, but I want to try other night creams first.

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 2:48 am

Thanks Divineblush :). I recently bought Fabindia Vitamin E de-pigmentation Cream. Been using it for a few days now. Seems good.

I’ve been using it on and off for about 7 – 8 months now. And I have a love hate relationship with it. Can’t say I love it, can’t say I hate it either. And I have another unopened tub of it lying around. Lol :P

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 5:42 am

You have a love hate relationship and 2 tubs of it. Lol. My experience so far has been good. But not an everyday product for my sensitive oily skin.

Kritika February 11, 2012 at 8:14 am

Yeah. Its one of those complicated relationships :P
Yeah true, it makes oily skin even more oilier. But it does help in lighting spots.

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 2:50 am

Thanks Varshini :)
I want to try Vichy products but they are slightly heavy on my wallet. Its the only thing putting me off.

I agree, Vichy’s Normaderm night cream is good… I have super dry skin but I used it during a particularly bad acne phase… Its hypoallergic, so suits sensitive skin really well.Good review!

Thanks Krittika :)
Guess I’ll try to convince my sister to buy it for me.

nice review..i would never usually touch a whitening product..someone once told me they added bleach to these and the idea stuck…I am using TBS Vit E night cream for the last two winters and the experience is good..but again it is not for the summer for my oily skin..if you do find a good night summer cream let me know..fabindia sounds promising:) is it light enough for summer oilyness? I also think the vit c range by TBS again has a good night cream..

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 5:47 am

Thanks Swastika :)
I have the same feeling about whitening products. But this hasn’t been like a whitening product. It helped my skin a lot. I haven’t used the Vit E and Vit C range from TBS. Isn’t Vit E for extra moisturisation?

swastika February 13, 2012 at 5:26 am

Yes, it is very very moisturizing..perfect for the winter nights.

jyoti February 11, 2012 at 6:33 am

this sounds good. Even i am on a hunt for a good night cream for my combnation skin. Will let you know if i find out a good one. :) Nice review BTW. ;)

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 6:56 am

Thanks Jyoti. Please do.

Nirah February 11, 2012 at 6:43 am

This is definitely not for summers . But I quite like it. And I think considering that it shows results ( it worked fabulously for me) price tag is not bad. I went through 1 and 1/2 jars before I just got bored. :)

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 11:55 am

Summer is almost here. So need one that will suit summer. Can’t wake up with an oil slick everyday :D

Nice Post Sangeeta :) I use Oriflame’s Optimal White Night cream and it really worked for my skin(dry) It is very light on skin and have a beautiful aroma too .

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 11:57 am

My skin is quite oily and I don’t like the fact that Oriflame products are predominantly available only through consultants.

saranya February 11, 2012 at 11:13 am

nice review sangeeta :) you can check out the himalaya revitalizing night cream or body shop vitamin e night cream but if your skin is extremely sensitive give vichy normaderm a shot. hope this helps :)

Sangeeta February 11, 2012 at 11:56 am

Thanks Saranya :)
Quite a few people have suggested that. Guess I’ll try to purchase it next time.

Revathy February 11, 2012 at 5:51 pm

I have dry and very sensitive skin, and not many skin creams work for me; Neutrogena used to work, but it has all these harmful chemicals! AND they dont work well at night. I would need something much heavier to last the night. I started using the Made from Earth Olive Night Creme and seems to visibly smooth out my skin and leave it with a nice feel.

The consistency is very light and almost has a “whipped” look to it, and the first time I slathered it on my face and neck it was absorbed in seconds. It has a pleasant aroma, and I especially love it on my neck and upper chest area, which soaks it up like a sponge.

Well worth having if you like to vary your face creams and try something new, especially if you want a thick night cream.
