Inglot AMC Lip Pencil
Guest Review written by Dhara
If there is one thing that I just can’t get enough  right now of is nudes. Now don’t get too many ideas you dirty minds..I meant nude lipsticks :p The lovelie that I am showing off today is the Inglot AMC Lip pencil # 16.
According to the Inglot website, this pencil is
  •  Medium hard, matte jumbo pencil.
  • Great staying power makes it an alternative for lip liner used by professionals for colouring lips.
  • Moisturising properties achieved by the complex of lanoline substitutes and avocado butter.

This is a pinkish brown colored jumbo sized lip pencil which can be used as lipstick ! This  lip pencil is pigmented, goes on pretty nude on my slightly pigmented lips, washing my NC 40(MAC) complexion out a bit. If you are lighter than NC40, this would look even more flattering on you!  These Inglot  lip pencils are matte in texture and quite drying, but iv noticed the texture differs from shade to shade !! The brighter or darker colored pencil seemed to perform much better in the texture and moisture department  than the light Inglot AMC Lip Pencils like this one. I generally apply Vaseline lip balm 10 minutes prior to using this lip pencil. That way I get a bit of moisture!
It lasts around 4 hours on me with a full meal, after which this particular color just becomes invisible on my lips.   I  really recommend using it as a base for nude brown/pink lip glosses.  That’s how I wear it and in that sense it is great- you get more lasting power and also some moisturization. Another downside is that since its a jumbo pencil, you would need a sharpener which has sharpening hole larger than the normal ones. Nevertheless I love this nude baby. Using this has made me fall in love with glosses all over again. Oh and there’s a something for’s available in 23 different colors…from baby pink to a rich dark red/maroon :) . I recommend you try out the brighter or darker shades as the texture differs in those pencils

Overall Verdict: B+

Price: Rs. 680 for a 3.8 gm pencil(the info from the website and the info printed on the pencil are different, so don’t know which is correct.)

Recommendation: The Inglot AMC Lip Pencil in #16 is a pale pinkish nude that slightly washes my NC 40 complexion out,  but i still like it as a nude lip pencil. These matte lip pencils are pigmented, long lasting, smooth to apply and can be used as a lipstick too. The texture however differs from shade to shade, and this particular one definitely had issues with drying out lips  and accentuationg fine lines which other shades do not.  My favourite way to use this is to wear it under glosses!

This would definitely look pretty with gloss on top of it but alone for my nc42 it won’t work !

It could be a very good lipstick base……….would make the lip color uniform to make colors pop …….nice review….

mehak March 28, 2012 at 12:08 pm

Ya i think that would be a good way to use a base to make colors pop..but its the settling into lines thats turning me off!

Thts true Mehak……….. I think if we prepare the lips by scrubing and then moisturising it …….applying the lip pencil on top , then finishing it with color…….what say ??

Do u think this would be good to use as lip concealer type thing? To blank out pigmented lips? My brighter lipsticks would look so much better if I had something like that on my lips under

mehak March 28, 2012 at 10:20 pm

i think so sara, except it accentuates lines which may not be very flattering
