Lakme Face Sheer in Rose

Guest Review by Swastika

*Shiny disco disco……shiny disco balls!!*

Have you ever looked like that? Me? Yes, guilty as charged! So before I was introduced to the beauty blogger’s world, I bought products looking at beauty magazines and SA recommendations only and I loved this product’s advertisement! Then at the Lakme counter:

Me- What is a face sheer?

SA- Mam, it is like a highlighter, makes your face glow..try it on..

Me – Is it not too shiny? (looking at the swatch on my hand)

SA- No mam, it will make you look like a goddess..glowy..

Me –(feeling super pleased) Okay pack it!

Lakme claims: Sun soaked irridescent pigments that tint, highlight and layer for lovely cheek and face color.

The Lakme face sheer is a lovely peachy golden powder with a LOT of finely milled gold glitter. I don’t like glitter in my makeup. If I was performing on stage..it would be my go to product..but otherwise there is no place for it  in my life.  While the powder is a lovely color but the glitter (however finely milled) is so obvious that it killed the product for me. Also the packaging however beautiful is very inconvenient. Too much product comes out when I try to put it directly to my face. It is too cumbersome to take the sponge off and apply with a brush. Whenever I have travelled with it, there is product spillage and all my other makeup is finely coated with this powder.  So overall this is a product I regret buying.

So it has been more than a year now and I have hardly touched this.  I could never figure how to apply this , it is too much in the mornings, it shines too much under the harsh lighting at parties. As a highlighter it is not working,  neither as a blush so being totally confused I let the pretty box sit in my dresser till I picked it up today to warn you ladies to be very wary before you picked it up-unless you love glitter.

Recommendation: While the Lakme Face Sheer powder is a lovely peachy gold color but the glitter (however finely milled) is so obvious that it killed the product for me. Also the packaging however beautiful is very inconvenient.  I would recommend you skip this unless you are a glitter  fan!
