Maybelline Clear Glow All in One Compact
Guest Review by Sangeeta
One of the very first products that became a staple in my makeup was compact powder. No matter how lazy I am I never skip wearing compact, except when I’m back to work from a sick leave and I want to maintain ‘the I’m still sick don’t make me work look’. I’ve never felt the need to stick to just one brand of compact and try to experiment with different ones everytime and my latest experiments brought me to Maybelline Clear Glow Compact Powder
The product claims to “Turn on the light for skin that looks bright, visibly fair and shine free.
Instant Fairness: Infused with Pro Vitamin C it instantly illuminates skin’s appearance, revealing a healthy fair glow.
Helps Prevent Skin Darkening: SPF 26 PA++, high UV protection helps defend from skin darkening and apperance of spots.
Smooth, Even Skin: Ultra fine lightweight powders blend easily giving optimum coverage to erase spot appearance for smooth, even skin.
Shine Control: Blend of water and sebum repellent powders keep skin shine free, perfectly matte and fresh.
How to use: Apply evenly with sponge all over fave and neck. Suitable for everyday use.
- Oil free
- Dermatologist tested
- Allergy tested
- Non comedogenic
- Available in 5 shades.”
The packaging of ‘Maybelline Clearglow All In One Fairness Compact’ (quite a long name) is damn cute ; rectangular and pinkish in tone. The compact is lightweight and fine. It blends in to the skin easily, but don’t try to build up too much to cover blemishes as it leaves a whitish cast if used too much. The buffer is quite nice and it I think it should be able to handle a few washes easily. I have oily sensitive skin and the compact didn’t irritate it. It keeps oil away for a few hours but not too long. My skin starts feeling oily by afternoon when I use this product. The Maybelline SA told me that the compact can be used both wet and dry. I haven’t tried using it wet, but its nice to have a multi purpose product. The SPF of 26 is a bonus. Now to the claim, “Instant Fairness”, it brightenes the skin adding a bit of glow and not a product that makes you fair. Though the compact comes in 5 different shades, the shades would suit fair and medium skin only. My overall experience with this Maybelline Compact has been fair, nothing mind blowing but good enough for the price you pay.

What I Like
- Love the packaging. Would have looked very classy had it had a reflective front
- Contains SPF 26 PA++
- It can be used as both wet and dry
- Lightweight and matte
- Didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
What I don’t really like
- While there are 5 shades to choose from, the shades will mostly suit only fair and medium skin tones
- Doesn’t keep my oily skin matte for long but lasts a few hours
- Can’t be built up too much, leaves a whitish cast if too much is used.
Overall Verdict: B+
Would I repurchase this? Yes, till something new catches my fancy!
Price: Rs 175/-
Overall Recommendation: The Maybelline Clear Glow Compact is a really nice one for the price you pay- it is lightweight and mattifying and doesnt irritate my sensitive skin. You may not find anything amazing about this product but the quality you get for the price is really really good!!
