Clinique Sun With Solar Smart

Did you know UVA rays can cause deeper damage than UVB rays?  UVA rays age the skin while UVB rays burn it. Surprisingly, not all sunscreens protect against both.  Clinique Sun with Solar Smart now offers a comprehensive defense against harmful UV rays with 3:1 technology, where UVB protection is three times proportional to UVA protection. Why is this key? The ratio 3:1 is crucial to ensure products contain an appropriate amount of UVA protection. Formulated with Clinique’s Proprietary Solar Smart Technology, a unique blend of photo stable sunscreens designed to help skin defend itself from UV assault.

“There is no harmless amount of sun exposure for the skin. Even small daily amounts of UV exposure contribute to photo-aging, alterations in the immune system and skin cancer. In fact, we now believe that about 80% of the skin changes we perceive as ‘aging’ are due to sun exposure. This is why daily sun protection is crucial all year long, regardless of season.”  – Dr. David Orentreich, Clinique’s Guiding Dermatologist

The range of UV protection factors and forms will fit any individual’s lifestyle and preference. The non-greasy formulas are oil-free, water and sweat-resistant, non-pore clogging and appropriate even for those with sensitive skin.

SPF 50 Face Cream INR 1450 for a 50ml tube.

SPF 50 Body Cream INR 1650 for a 150 ml tube.

SPF 30 Face Cream INR 1350  for a 50 ml. tube

SPF 30 Body Cream INR 1600  for a 150 ml. tube

Sodium Ribonucleic Acid (RNA Fragments) and C1-8 Alkyl Tetrahydroxycyclohexanoate (Cat’s Claw Plant Extract) encourage skin’s natural repair process to help “clean up” skin damage before it can replicate.

Ferulic Acid, Rosemary Officialis (Rosemary Extract), NDGA (Nordihydroguaiaretic Acid) and Ascorbyl Tocopheryl  Maleate are potent antioxidants encapsulated within a protein shell. This unique system allows for targeted delivery.

A targeted blend of stabilized sunscreens: Avobenzone, offers broad protection against UVA rays. Ethylhexylsalicylate and Homosalate, a combination of UVB absorbers, help to protect the skin against sunburn. Oxybenzone provides broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays. And, Octocrylene, a water-resistant molecule that protects the skin against UVB and short UVA rays, helps boost and stabilize UVA and UVB protection.

Tocopheryl  Acetate (Vitamin E) is a potent antioxidant that helps to neutralize free radical damage associated with UV damage such as premature aging and visible lines and wrinkles. Perilla Ocymoides Extract helps to calm and soothe irritated, sun-exposed skin.

Sucrose / Caffeine are anti-irritants that help to calm and soothe the skin from the effects of sun exposure.

And, all of Clinique’s facial cream formulas include Plankton Extract, a natural marine extract that releases unique “repair” enzymes when exposed to UV. These enzymes help counter visible damage to the skin including loss of collagen.

After Sun Rescue Balm with Aloe

INR 1600 for a 150 ml. tube

For those who have overindulged, Cliniqueoffers an ultra-moisturizing body balm to calm post-sun skin with soothing ingredients including Aloe. And, a targeted ingredient, Micrococcus Lysate helps repair free radical damage.

Usage: Gently spread this cooling balm over sunburned skin for a refreshing relief.

Safe sun care starts with proper usage and application. Apply product liberally and evenly at least 15-20 minutes prior to sun exposure.  A quarter sized amount should cover the entire face, about 1 ounce will cover the entire body.  Reapply every 2 hours or more often after swimming, excessive perspiring, and/or toweling. Keep out of eyes.

Clinique Sun Care Collection is Allergy Tested. 100%  Fragrance Free. Dermatologist Tested.  Non-Acnegenic. Photo-Allergy Tested. Photo-Toxicity Tested.  All face formulas are also Ophthalmologist Tested. Products are available at all Clinique locations or visit

I have the Clinique SPF 50 Face Cream ….It sucks…BIG TIME….I am yet to come across a sunscreen that leaves me looking as oily as Clinique does….and what’s worse is that its soooo pricey….Though I am a big fan of their (Clinique) products, i wont recommend this to ANYONE….
