Colorbar Shimmer Magic Baked Blush /Eyeshadow/ Bronzer Review

Let me introduce you to the unnamed makeup product i referred to as a Giant Peach Idli in my Haul post – its the Colorbar Shimmer Magic Baked Blush/ Eyeshadow / Bronzer (yes it claims to do all three). Now do you understand why it stays unnamed- Peach Idli is so much easier to remember than that long ass name no? This is one of those products that fr the life of me, i dont know why i bought. I didnt need it or want it, but you know how sometimes its the case of the uncontrollable arm- you reach a store, you havent bought anything in your entire excursion and your arm just seems to autmatically grab things and put it in the counter before you go home. Yes, i have that problem.

This  Colorbar Shimmer Magic is so very aptly named -Honeymoon Peach. Get it- Me. Peaches & Blush. Soon going for honeymoon to destinations i hope i get Visa for. Honeymoon-Peach !!! Its really a bright peachy orange with golden and bronze veining inside. The veining is kind of pointless honestly, because when swatched its just a bright peachy orange with shimmer, and you dont see any bronze veinin coming in.  Given the color, its best suited for warmer skintones , where the orange will be very flattering.  Its quite pretty actually..the shimmer is a mix of really fine unnoticeable shimmer, and some chunky glitter. Its this glitter which annoys me as it exaggerates open pores on the cheeks.

Its a pretty pigmented product so it will show up easily  even on darker skintones. It blends really easily , just a few whiffs on your brush and you are sorted. My issue  with this Shimmer Magic from Colorbar really is that it doesnt last long at all, it just dissapears in like 2-3 hours, which may not be such a bad thing after all because im assuming you will be using this during the night for -parties and stuff and not be a shimmer fest at work!!!!

As a bronzer- this does not work. I mean, there are shimmery bronzers and then there are SHIMMERY bronzers and this is definitely the latter. Plus, its way too orange to be a bronzer and not bronze enough.

As an eyeshadow- this is pretty. Infact you get really intense color if you apply it wet. So you get a full on, shimmery peach eye. Do apply primer, doesnt last long.

As a blush– this is pretty, depending on your tolerance level of shimmer. Even though most of the shimmer is fine, there are some chunkier bits which can exaggerate open pores but thats me being over critical. Really, it just depends on what your personal preference for shimmer is- i can definitely apply this with a light hand and it gives a nice sheen, but too heavy and it gets too shimmery.

Overall Verdict: B-

Price: Rs 750 for 9gms (My grand kids wont be able to finish this product-its that big!)

Recommendation: The Colorbar SHimmer Magic can be used a night time blush, or as an eyeshadow (specially when wet)  but probably not as a bronzer. The color is a pretty, bright peachy orange that should flatter medium to dark, warm skintones. I wish this lasted longer, and i wish it were just a tad less shimmery (there are some chunky glitter particles in there). I can definitely wear this with a light hand for a nice glowy sheen, but too much and it pushes the shimmer-boundary for me. If you are a shimmer girl though, go for this !!!

I don’t like this shade, coz it won’t look any good on me.. I wonder if there are other colors – esp matt ones – those now can really work well as bronzer, blusher & eyeshadow :)

No matte ones:( Lots of other shimmery shades though!

I like shimmers, but not the chunkier ones. But the swatch looks too lovely. Now I’m confused

It looks really good on the swatch! But yea, as a blush I don’t like too much shimmer.

Can you please upload a photo of you wearing this? It looks nice but swatches like these, its hard to imagine how it would look as a blusher :). At the moment it looks tacky to my eyes with all that glitter lol.

This indeed looks gorgeous but its way too shimmery for my taste. Wondering how you’ll look after wearing it :D
