Nyx Round Lipstick in B52

A lot of my makeup shopping trips have something like this happening; At some random makeup counter, “Hi, I’d like to try the lipstick in… damn forgot the number”. Start rumbling through my bag, find my phone, and go through my ‘To Buy’ list and find the damn lipstick’s number. This has happened to me not just once or twice. I like it when lipsticks have names rather than numbers. Names are easy to remember.
Description
NYX Round Lipstick is a classic lipstick for all-year round. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvety texture, saturated color and it resists wear and smudging. It’s your go-to lipstick. From Pure Nude to Pink Lyric to Chic Red, Round Lipstick is available in a jaw-dropping 126 shades.
Packaging
The lipstick comes in a black plastic tube with a clear part in the bottom that shows you the shade. The clear part will come in handy if you have quite a few round lipsticks. Apart from this the packaging feels quite cheap and not so sturdy. But I don’t mind it as I like the lipstick a lot.
The Product
NYX Round lipstick in B52 is a mauvish brown pink which comes out a bit brownish than mauvish on the lips. This shade would be my lips but better for a lot of people and would suit most Indian skin tones well. These lipsticks are very creamy and glide on easily. Since they are quite creamy its best to exfoliate the lips before. The fragrance though mild is not something I like. I prefer unperfumed lipsticks. The pigmentation is quite good. It gives medium to full coverage. The lasting power is good; it lasts about 3-4 hours after which it starts fading to a tint. One of the biggest cons is that it will most likely melt in summer. The lipstick is already wobbling in its base and I fear it will break.
What I Like
- Pigmentation is very good – coverage is medium to full
- The formula is creamy and the lipstick glides on the lips easily
- Wide range of shades to choose from – though only a few are available in India
- Has decent lasting power.
What I don’t really like
- It is very creamy, this is a con as well as it melts easily in the summer
- Expensive when purchased in India
- Packaging looks cheap and not so sturdy.
Verdict: B+
Price: Rs 400 from Stylecraze
Would I repurchase this? This was my very first Nyx Round Lipstick and I love it. I would love to buy some more shades but they are quite expensive in India compared to the US.
Overall Recommendation: NYX Round lipsticks are one of the hottest products from NYX and a must have in any lipstick lovers collection. While the product fails to impress with its packaging it makes up with its pigmentation, buttery quality and colour range. If you don’t have a NYX Round lipsticks yet pick up B52 a lovely mauvish brown pink.

I love these lipsticks and I’m planning to get a couple more. I just love the way they glide! But as you said, given the price in US, it’s a deal, but at high rates here, I don’t think they are the ‘steals’, but the colors are awesome!

I want to buy more round lipsticks. Obviously one isn’t enough.
Long ago I had a Maybelline (when they first came to India, that long ago) which looked exactly like this. When it was used up, I put the empty tube in my bag and started the hunt for a dupe. Maybelline had discontinued it or at least that it was I was told . I will get this and see if it matches.

B52 is such a gorgeous gorgeous shade, but unfortunately on my NC45 complexion it washes me out

They are a total value for money if bought abroad. Here the prices are 3-4 times higher.
i’ve also heard raves about this shade but was never really tempted to get it…..my fav nude from nyx is the round lipstick in milan…..also loving fire,femme,doll n spellbound

Its about finding one that works on you. Some shades might light pink on cool toned skin while it appears more nudish on darker skin.
