Faces Long Wear Eye Pencil Metal Brown Review

Guest Post by Kritika (Medium Skin tone, Oily to Combination Skin)

There are two types of girls in the world- the brown eyeliner girl and the black eyeliner girl. Which one are you? I’m definitely a black eyeliner girl and I always always have at least two different black eyeliners with me at a given point of time. I’m in a full time committed relationship with my black eyeliners. But lately, I’ve been drawn to brown eyeliners. Sssh!! My black eyeliners don’t know yet. I bet they’d feel cheated and betrayed but what’s a girl gotta do?! These tall dark and handsome brown ones like the Faces Cosmetics Long Wear Eye Pencil in Metal Brown are irresistible. Don’t you think so? Anyways, I should quit blabbering get down to the review now,

Faces Canada says: Soft gentle pencils in a rainbow of shades. Use them to enhance your natural eye colour for dramatic effect or give you that bright-eyed glow. Gentle and safe for sensitive eyes.

It comes in a whole lot of colours and the one I’m reviewing today is ‘Metal Brown’. The packaging is quite alright and what I like about the packaging is the fact that the cap and the bottom are of the shade of the product and it becomes easy to locate the pencil.

‘Metal Brown’This is a very pretty metallic brown and looks beautiful with all that glitter. This is a dazzling, extremely pigmented, deep and dark, shimmery brown. You can see the shimmer very well in the swatch and it looks exactly like that when applied. The shimmer is what I absolutely love about this one. A lot of brown eyeliners have tendency to not show up on my eyes because they are slightly darker and more pigmented than the rest of my face. And I have all the hours I spend before the laptop to blame for this. But this one actually shows up, it’s actually the shimmer that makes it so visible.

The texture it super creamy and soft and glides on without any problem. So no tugging and no pulling and no going back and forth and no digging the pencil into your eyes till your eyeballs come out. Eww. It’s extremely pigmented and a swipe or two gives a beautiful dash of colour. But I like going back for another one just to intensify the colour. It wears for hours as it is smudge proof and waterproof. I put it on in the morning and it’s still there when I get back home in the evening.

It sharpens well with any regular sharpener so you don’t need a special one for this. But to get it off you will need a makeup remover because it won’t go off just by washing. I use almond oil because it does the job amazingly well, is moisturizing and is good for the sensitive skin around the eyes. Love killing two birds with one stone. Lol. And oh, I can’t say anything about it being waterline safe or not, because I haven’t tried putting it on my waterline and I’m too scared because I do have sensitive eyes.

Overall Verdict: A

Price: Rs.249

Will I repurchase: Yes. Yes. But don’t tell my black eyeliners :P

Recommendation: I
f you love the Colorbar I -Glides then you will probably love these just as much  because they are pretty similar, in the sense that they both rock!  Metal Brown is a super pretty shimmery brown that really does show up on the lid and the shimmer elevates it above regular boring brown liners!Go grab your favourite colour   in the Faces Long Wear Eye Pencils! Hehe chotu eyes :P
I believe there re tricks to play around with chotu eyes too girl. Applying nude eyeliner on the waterline is the one I can think of right now. Maybe Mehak can advice something !

I so enjoyed this post kritika. My current Colorbar I Glide in Black out has almost ran out and I do need a new one ( black is my staple :) ) . This time I have decided to try the Faces instead of Colorbar. No doubt it would save plenty of my dough.
You have a unique writing style, rather all the writers here write so well that this space is never boring to me. :)
