Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado Review

You know whats the worst thing about Beauty Blogging – all those close up photographs that you click of yourself , you realise…hmm im not as pretty as i thought i was. Seriously, all those close up shots makes that tiny line under your eye look like a giant pita bread pocket you can stuff something inside. So i got a little dressing  to stuff inside my pita pocket  under eye lines and its the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado!! (I’m giving pita references because im trying to make humus this week!)

This little avocado salad dressing look-alike is one of the humble-est makeup products i have seen. Humble because, while other products promise to turn you into Cleopatra, all this Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment claims is : This creamy preparation with Avocado Oil, gently moisturizes the delicate eye area. Our unique, concentrated texture does not migrate into your eyes. Ophthalmologist-Tested. Dermatologist-Tested.

I thought the creamiest product i had ever tried was the Hagen Daz Belgian Chocolate Ice cream, but the Kiehl’s Under Eye Treatment just overtook that! This flourescent yellow liquid is this uber creamy, thick-ish  emulsion that you pat under your eye and over all those dry areas you want to hydrate. It’s not the kind of cream you just throw on and blend , because it’s a bit thick you need to spread it out with  a bit of effort and patience but it does absorb into the skin . The texture is a little bit strange almost- slightly sticky and This is not the kind of cream that will dissapear into the skin, you will always see a thin layer of this on top but i like that- it allmost acts as a barrier for my skin and makes my concealer go on way easier!

What i love is how my under eye area looks so plump and firm with this on. It definitely works on fine lines for me atleast- because mine are caused by dryness and this luscious, rich cream slips right into those dry areas and hydrates them! If you are looking for an anti-ageing cream, this is not one but it doesn’t claim to be either. It doesn’t claim to prevent dark circles or puffiness or wrinkles- it only claims to gently moisturize and it does a fab job at that. Another thing i love is how this makes my job of concealing so much easier. Without this on, my concealer kind of drags on the skin and cakes up under my eyes but on top of this Kiehl’s concoction its just smooth sailing.I use copious amounts of this before sleeping as well as in the morning and i think im kind of addicted to this now- on days I don’t use this I can definitely see the difference!

Left: Bare Skin- Pay attention to the fine lines under the eyes Right: After Kiehls Creamy Avocado Treatment

(Btw …One of the best things about beauty blogging, is having people coming up to you randomly and be like “OMG i love your blog, i bought xyz because of you, it’s totally working out for me. Thank you so much”. That kind of makes a beauty bloggers day honestly!! So a shoutout to Malvika- who met my cousin sister at a party and did not let go of her because she had to tell her how much she reads P & B, and she mentioned reading posts even between lectures ( Girl!!- makeup wont get you marks..specially in economics..padai karo!). Haha…

Price: Rs 1700/- (Yes, outrageously expensive)

Recommendation: I absolutely love the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. It is rich and luscious, and totally hydrates my under eye areas making it appear plump and reducing the appearance of fine lines caused by dryness. If you are looking for an anti ageing or an anti dark circle/anti puffiness cream this is not the cream for you and it doesn’t claim to do any of that either. This only claims to hydrate and that’s what it does best, filling in fine lines and providing an excellent base for concealer to go over.. Extremely expensive , though a little bit goes a long way!

looks like a godsend….but the price has my head spinning!!! mehak, does it fill the lines temporarily or will it fade them with continuous usage?? the temporary effect has got me interested n if my undereye area is going to benefit in the long run il be getting this asap-im impressed with the sincerity of the brand-someone else was also mentioning about the brand never making any tall claims……

mehak May 2, 2012 at 11:23 am

Iv been using it for about two months, dont think the lines have faded as such..just that because the dryness causes my lines, they dont look so prominent with this on…but i dont know maybe continuous usage!

Hi Mehak, i was so surprised to see my name here :)

ps – it was an agricultural economics class (yawn!) and the pakistani lehengas seemed far more interesting!

mehak May 2, 2012 at 1:10 pm

Haha !! Agri eco…eeks.. the worst kind of economics..
Yes bridal lehengas are FAR more interesting than crop yield in 1983 !!! She told me, always good to hear when someone reads the blog religiously :p !!!!

Since I am a fellow panda, at fist I thought, wow! But the price tag came as a bolt out of the blue! Even though this sounds perfect, I would stick to my Himalaya cream :P
But then, it could be a temporary solution on days I want to really look good.

mehak May 2, 2012 at 8:02 pm

Doesnt work on dark circles though- so wont work on pandas!!!

Sruti January 16, 2014 at 1:45 am

Since I see all of you are daily product users, If I ask you

‘What would be that one thing you really want Kiehl’s to come up with?’

What would that be, something that is not there in their basket now?
Really looking forward to interesting replies.
PS. Excited for some out-of-the-box demands of the ever-wanting-never-satisfied consumer. :)
