Guest Review by Vijetha (Light Skin tone (NW 20) , Combination Skin)
Hello, make up enthusiasts out there! Of all the make-up products and tricks, a good foundation that suits the wearer’s skin tone is extremely important. Yet, many a times we shun the foundation to avoid looking cakey, oily and what not. As make-up addicts, you would know how hard it is to find a perfect foundation! My recent tryst with foundation has given me a new hope! Read on to know my experiences with the talk of the tinsel town, MUFE HD Foundation.
MUFE HD foundation has incredible choices of shades to suite most skin types/colors/undertones, is very light on skin, claims invisible on HD cameras while giving medium to high coverage! Let’s know a bit about the MUFE HD Foundation range before I get into the detailed review.
Highlights of MUFE HD Foundation Range
- An incredible array of shades – 25 shades!
- Invisible on HD cameras and to naked eye
- Oil free formula that provides medium to full coverage
My experience with the product – Shade – My shade is called Flesh and its shade number 118. This shade is for light skin with beige undertones. Since I was ordering it online, I read up on the internet to understand the shades and took a chance with 118 – Flesh and voila! I got quite close! However, I would love to try more shades physically sometime. It’s quite difficult to choose on the internet! For those who want a non-yellowish foundation, MUFE HD foundation can be a great ally. A lot of foundations in the market have an obvious yellow tinge and MUFE has solved this problem with plenty of shades that aren’t yellow.
Application/Packaging/Staying Power – A very tiny amount of this liquid foundation is required to cover the whole face. I apply it with my finger tips and it works well. The foundation dries very quickly and hence needs to be blended fast. It’s not a good idea to use any sponge or make up brush to apply this foundation as it may dry in the brush! Lesson learnt – use your finger tips or buy the HD range sponge for applying foundation. The pump bottle disposes just the right amount of foundation liquid.
MUFE HD Foundation is indeed very light on skin and gives a powdery finish (refer image – note: the foundation doesn’t match my skin and may look whitish in the image as my facial skin is much lighter). This foundation can make your face look quite flat which I guess is due its powdery finish. My personal opinion is that one must wear a blush or use any countering products. The lightness of the foundation and ease of application makes it a perfect everyday foundation. All the more, it never makes you look like you are wearing a LOT of make-up. My shade gives me a medium coverage and last for quite long in cool weather. It stays put for more than two hours if I go out in the sun or in a humid climate. And, it didn’t break me out! However, it requires a thorough clean up. I have to use a make-up remover and then wash with a cleanser.
Okie, here I come to the pros and cons to help you quickly take a call,
- Very light on skin and hence a great choice for everyday wear or atleast frequent use. A great option for people like me who otherwise wear foundation for only weddings!
- A LOT of shades available, you can’t possibly get disappointed!
- You can ditch the compact powder/finishing powder after applying the foundation as it gives a good finish on its own.
- Solid Medium Coverage
- Choosing the right shade online is a risky affair!
- Dries quickly on the skin, so need to give some thought to application
Review Verdict: A-
Price – Around 2100 INR for 30 ml
Final Recommendation – If you are still in search of a good foundation that suits your skintone, please try MUFE HD Foundation. This is a matte coverage foundation, so if you like dewy foundations you may not like this. However I would highly recommend this to those who just hate a thick layer of foundation on their face but still want good coverage- because this gives medium coverage and is extremely lightweight on the skin. This does dry quickly on the skin, so you need to blend it quickly and avoid using sponges which accelerate the drying process further.
(Editors Note: Iv heard unconfirmed rumours that the MUFE store is closing shop in Mumbai. Anyone know anything further?)
