Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Pretty Please

The Colorbar Velvet Matte lipstick range has finally gotten the popularity it deserves. Almost every Indian blogger is raving about its huge range of colours and long-wearing properties (Editors Note: Agree. I love this range, i love how long it lasts and how much variety there is but i have noticed somehow that the color changes with time with these lipstick. Wierd.). Ever since I started using lipsticks, I’ve been on the lookout for a lipstick that would stay on my lips for more than an hour. I’ve read reviews where people say that a particular lipstick lasted a good 3-4 hours on them but when I finally tried it for myself, it wouldn’t even last an hour. I have smooth lips that don’t chap much but I never thought that lipstick could just slip off of my lips. Anyhow, I kept looking and tried lipsticks but most of them disappointed me in terms of wear time. Later, I read reviews for this Colorbar range and everyone was saying that Velvet Matte Over the Top lasted 6-7 hours on them. I was a little hesitant because I didn’t want to buy yet another lipstick that wouldn’t wear well. But when I discovered a tiny beauty shop close to where I live that sold Colorbar stuff, I gave in and bought Over the Top and Bare and there’s been no looking back. Colorbar Pretty Please Velvet Matte Lipstick is the newest addition to my stash!
Pretty Please is a sort of orangey peach when swatched on my arm/hand. It looks much the same on the lips though in certain lights, it shows up just a tad more pink. Like a pinky peach with some orange in it. These lipsticks have a faint scent. Nothing too strong but if you do have a problem with lipstick scents then do sniff before you buy 
Since there’ve been so many reviews of this lipstick here, I thought I’d do something different and try to tackle some concerns that I’ve noticed people usually have with these lipsticks in a Q/A format
Most of the shades leave a pink stain or turn pink in a while. Does that happen with Pretty Please too?
I have Bare and Over the Top from this range and both of them look like different shades of pink on my lips immediately after application and leave a pink stain. This shade though isn’t pink on application and doesn’t leave any stain on my lips (Thank the good lord! I have ENOUGH lipsticks that stain my lips pink )
These lipsticks claim to be matte but still transfer onto cups and bottles?
The lipstick isn’t matte or transfer resistant the minute you put it on. In fact, when you put it on, it’s quite creamy. It takes some 15-20 minutes to become matte and transfer resistant. The time it takes to set also depends on how many layers you’ve applied. I usually apply a layer, blot with a tissue and apply another layer. This works best as you’ll be left with some colour on your lips even if you eat or drink soon after you’ve put on lipstick.
Is the wear time of this shade the same as the others?
No. The other two shades I have leave pink stains. So, even when the actual lipstick is gone, you don’t notice anything amiss because of the stain on your lips. This shade doesn’t stain much so when it’s gone you’ll be left with almost bare lips. This means that with Pretty Please, the colour doesn’t stay on your lips for as long as with the other shades.

Recommendation: Colorbar Pretty Please is , like the name suggest a pretty, peachy pink. I am in love with the Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Range The colour selection is excellent and they’ve recently added some amazing new shades to this range. The lipsticks wears really well and is practically kiss-proof and non-transferable once it sets. If you’re a lipstick girl, it’d be sinful to not try at least a couple of shades from this range.

I feel since the Naked Pink, the shades like Demure, Sultry, etc, that is the nude range is a marvellous journey for Colorbar. Like there’s a perfect nude for every person. So far, I am liking this shade the best, but well, I would’ve preferred the stain more.
Hihihi. Youare right about the matte part. While I really love these, initially I used to think these were matte per se and did not try. I am still trying to understand why these are called mattes.

Even I thought the staining factor of these lipsticks was great but when all the different shades you pick up turn into the exact same pink after a while it’s like you’ve got duplicates of the same shade
Bare goes pink on me from the very beginning…Peach crush seems more pinky than coral/peach. I just wish at least the red and orange shades don’t stain pink…lol!!
I got Peach Crush, I love it so much! It’s pretty similar to Pretty Please.

On me, Peach Crush comes out more pink than peach/coral so didn’t get it. Even Pretty Please is a little pinkier than it seems. Bare is just downright pink on me..like as soon as I put it on. I’m really not fond of it. Do try it on your lips/pads at the tips of your fingers in the store first…don’t go by arm swatches. These lippies can look totally different when on the lips

Yes, you totally should…just beware of the notorious pink stains from even the supposedly nude lippies
Very pretty shade! I picked Naked Pink from CB Velvet matte range today, the counter didn;t have this hsade in stock else would have picked this one too. My only gripe is while I love the longevity almost all the CB velvet matte lippie’s shades change color and turn in to a dark pink and stain pretty bad, but for the price I can’t complain
Agreed. I HATE the pink stain especially with bare. It seems you can only really buy the pink colours if you want the stain to match the original colour of the lipstick
This one though doesn’t seem to leave that ugly, stark pink stain…maybe it’s from the older collection or something. I really like OTT though…it’s really pretty and doesn’t stain too badly either.
