Kryolan Tinted Moisturizer Review

Guest Post by Ria (Medium Skin tone, Combination Skin)

I have a Kryolan store two blocks from my home and I have been hearing some great reviews of their products, so decided to try it out myself with the Kryolan Tinted Moisturizer. I was on the lookout for a tinted moisturizer to wear on days when I don’t want to layer my face with foundation and concealer. I have only tried biotique one and did not think much of it really, and with Ponds Tinted Moisturizer being discontinued, i decided i wanted to scoop out some new ones.

Kryolan Claims:  An exceptional cream foundation in an elegant dispenser bottle.  This unusually gentle foundation, with its translucent effects, produces a fresh and natural impression. It enables picture-lovely results on the catwalk – and also for applications with photography and film. The integrated sunscreen factor also makes this make-up ideal for use in brilliantly sunlit ambience. Tinted Moisturizer users are particularly fond of its pleasant feeling and its comfort on their skin.

I got shade TM 4  in the Kryolan Tinted Moisturizer which also has SPF so there was no need to apply sunscreen. It has  sheer to medium coverage which is what a good tinted moisturizer should have , a smooth finish , its blendable and easy to apply. It has a conevenient pump dispenser and  it evens out the skin tone, although its not completely lightweight.

The first time, I applied it as I would a foundation and then left for office. When I reached office, I had a film of oil on my face. My skin is combination type leaning towards oily in summer but this had never happened to me before. I knew the culprit was this Kryolan Tinted Moisturizer!

So  the next time, I first applied Kryolan-Invisible Matt Cream to control the oiliness and it worked better, but all day I felt like I have applied something heavy on my face and the feeling was not good. I felt like the point of the tinted moisturizer was lost since they are supposed to be sheer, lightweight products and with the cream it made it heavy. Because of these reasons i had to put it aside in summers but i  might give it a try again in winters but it’s a big NO for me in this hot, humid weather.

  • Five shades to choose from
  • Easy to blend
  • Pump dispenser
  • Has SPF
  • Sheer to medium coverage
  • Works well when applied with a mattifying cream.
  • Evens out the skin tone.

  • Heavy in texture
  • Not suitable for oily skin. My face has a film of oil half an hour after application.
  • Expensive for a tinted moisturiser

Rating- B

Price- Rs 900 for 50 ml

Availability- Kryolan stores

Recommendation– The Kryolan Tinted Moisturizer gives sheer to medium coverage and evens out the skin tone but it is way to oily and heavy for my combination skin tone. Possibly dry skin beauties can give it a try, but i want to stay far away from it during summers- may go back to it for winters and see the results because at the moment it defeats the purpose of a tinted moisturizer by being heavy.
