Colorbar Expensive Pink Eyeshadow- Dupe for Mac Plum Dressing?

Written by Guest Writer Swastika

I love MAC products, period. But this love affair doesn’t translate well with my bank account you know. The relationship between them is like a lover and a disapproving mother and the poor me is stuck in-between. So when I come across a dupe for them, I spare no time before picking it up. This time I got lucky with a Colorbar eyeshadow- Expensive pink which is very similar to MAC Plum dressing. As you see, the name too is a rip-off of another MAC favourite. How about I call this a “2way rip”? . A rip off name and a rip off color..But, who is complaining! Certainly I am not.

Generally speaking, plum-colored eyeshadows are quite versatile and among my must-haves. Colorbar Expensive Pink is also a pinky plum shade with a sheen to it just like Mac Plum Dressing. I think it differs just slightly, in the way that Plum Dressing is a tad more purple, but honestly on the lid it’s really one and the same thing.

Speaking of Colorbar eye-shadows, the quality is very good for the price it retails at. There is no fallout, it applies like a dream and is easy to blend. It might not have the ka-boom instant pigmentation of Mac, but is still very well pigmented and a couple of swipes ensures great color.  I don’t know if I am the only one, but I think the finish is quite similar to MAC. Staying power is not superb, which is a common problem across Colorbar products but keeping the price into consideration it is definitely worth a buy for sure !

Verdict: B+

Price –  INR 250/-

Will I repurchase – Yes, if I run out of it.

Recommendation: Colorbar Expensive Pink Eyeshadow is a pinky plum shade with sheen to it. Its a beautiful purple shadow to own and is quite similar to Mac Plum Dressing Eyeshadow

the color is so gorgeous……do plum shades suit dusky skin…I simply loved the color…

swastika July 12, 2012 at 2:46 pm

You should definitely try it..i sometimes use it with a damp brush to make an eyeliner ; if you dont want to go full blown plum, it is a easy way of trying this.
