Revlon Colorstay Foundation Review (For Oily Combination Skin)

Guest Post by Ria (Medium Skin tone/Combination Skin)

Before trying out Revlon colorstay foundation, the only other that I had tried was from MAC and was not very happy with it. I had just used that twice on the occasion of my sister’s marriage and have never taken it out of my cabinet again. So when I had another close wedding coming up in the beginning of this year I was again on the lookout for a good foundation. I had heard great reviews about Revlon colorstay foundation and as it came for oily/combination skin, I gave it a try.

Review

First of the Revloon Colorstay foundation comes  in a variety of shades and  I rarely see a drugstore foundation come in so many shades hence this totally won me over to start with. I got the shade Sand Beige. Also it is available for combination/oily skin type and normal/dry skin type, so there is something for every skin color/texture and type.

It is a full coverage foundation and it is very easy to layer it on without looking cakey. The maximum I have worn it at a stretch is 8 hours and it looks the same when I had applied it 8 hours ago though I have not tested its ambitious 16 hours claim.

It is very lightweight and does not feel heavy when applied. Blends easily but has to be done fast as it dries quickly. I have acne prone skin but this has never caused me to breakout. It gives matt finish and really helps in oil control. But this foundation is kind of difficult to take off. I have to apply cleanser on my face 2-3 times to remove it completely.

This foundation is inexpensive compared to many others who does all the mentioned things and costs a bomb.I do not look for SPF in my foundation and this having SPF 6 is neither a positive nor a negative for me.

Pros of Revlon Colorstay Foundation

  • Full coverage but does not look cakey
  • Easy to blend
  • Matt finish
  • Amazing range of shades
  • Not too expensive
  • Lasting power is very good
  • Does not break me out

Cons of Revlon Colorstay Foundation

  • Dries easily so blending has to be done real quick
  • Would have liked a pump with the bottle.
