Loreal Glam Shine 6Hr Lipgloss Review

Living with a man makes you realise that God really did make us the more evolved sex . I mean, no male bashing and all…but when you come home from work and see your 25 year old husband play some sort of a strange flipping  game (They call it pen-war) with  your 20 year old brother, you cant help but think that these male species didnt quite complete the whole evolution process. I was in the middle of that thought when – WHAM, a lipgloss comes flying through the air like a circus trapeze, to smack me in the forehead. OW !!!!  Explanation: They ran out of pens you see, so they thought that this Loreal Glam Shine Lipgloss in Hold on Rose would be the perfect substitute for that incredible, awe inspiring sport that is ‘Pen wars’ !

Maybe its a good thing that my forehead was a landing stretch for this flying lipgloss (contrary to its name which tells it to hold on) ,  it kind of made me sit up and take notice of this Loreal Glam Shine which was kind of in hiding amongst my little lip drawer. (By the way, im still in the process of moving my makeup to my new place- there just not enough room here for everything and that is incredibly annoying).

Hold on Rose is a light, sort of  pale milky, mauvish pink with shimmer. The shimmer definitely look more obvious in the photos than in real life, because in reality the shimmer particles are extremely fine and if anything else lend a very pretty sheen to the gloss! Its a soft color that will really look different depending on your natural lip pigmentation because these are lighter, sheerer glosses! On me this is more of a light, pinkish nude- which is kind of perfect for summer. When the sun comes out, and you dont want to blanket your lips in heavy lipsticks, Loreal Glam Shine provides a welcome lightweight relief with a natural sort of a soft pink tint.

These glosses are not particularly sticky, are definitely moiturizing and last a decent amount of time, though 6 hour is stretching it a little bit. I would say 3-4 hours is what i get by with , without eating in between which is what an average gloss lasts till as well. Not the most pigmented glosses, but dont claim to be either- these are supposed to be lightweight and sheer and just give you glossy lips which these excel at doing. I actually really LOVE the unique heart shaped applicator these come with- i feel like it just provides the best doe foot iv ever used- it ensures your lips are coated smoothly and evenly.

Now the question really is- would you be okay with spending 800 on a pretty, glossy lipgloss with low pigmentation or put in an extra hundred and get yourself a MAC lipstick? Personal preference really, but to me these are priced too high.

*The shimmer is really not visible in real life- the flash caught  on to it.

Verdict: B+

Product:4/5, Pigmentation:3.5/5, Texture: 4/5, Longevity:3.5/5, Packaging  Value:3.5/5

Price: Rs 800

Recommendation: Loreal Glam Shine 6 hr lipglosses are pretty, lightweight lipglosses that are on the sheerer side -which kind of makes them perfect for summer. If you like your glosses to be lightweight , and not too sticky with high gloss and shine and  a unique doe foot heart shaped applicator you are likely to love these. It may look shimmery, but its really not that much shimmer..Too expensive though in my opinion…3 colorbar velvet matte lipsticks= 1 loreal lipgloss.  So out of those I know which one im  going to go for !
