Meet Kalpita

She is basically from Mangalore but born and brought up in Mumbai. She got married recently, and we have her wedding and reception photos to drool over!

Whats your Love Story? Love Marriage Childhood foes become life partners. We both know each other from last 14-15yrs.We both use to hate each other in school. But don’t know how we fell for eachother.We both joined different junior college but destiny had planned something special for us. We took admission in the same college for our graduation that is how we came to know each other personally. School foes became best friends and eventually fell in love with each other. After completing college marriage proposal started coming up for me that is when we both made up our mind to marry each other, but convincing our parents was not an easy job as we both are family friends and are of same age. But as time passed on they themselves realized we both are made of eachother.It took almost 2yrs for both of us to convince our parents .After a long wait our dreams came into reality. The day had come when we both had to take the oath of being with each other for the rest of our life. I look forward for a beautiful and a happy married life with my love.
Were there any Differences in Culture during the marriage I and Arun are from the same community but the problem for us was not cultural difference but our age. In bunts(community)usually guys don’t get married before 26 but in our case we both got married at 24.Initially our parents were against it but eventually even they understood our happiness lies in eachother.Our family was more excited for our wedding than us, they had organized Punjabi troop for our sangeet as well as for our wedding it gave Punjabi tadka to the South Indian wedding. All the wedding functions were fun….especially my sangeet it was to good Punjabi dancers and dj…..everyone grooved to Punjabi beat and bollywood songs.But my wedding function will always be the most  memorable one for me.It was the moment for which I had been waiting for so many years,when we both promised to stand by eachother  through thick and thin in life.

Prices  Please: My wedding saree is above 50k in price and reception lehenga is above 80k.
How long did it take you to find your outfits? How did you know- “This is it !”

To shop for my wedding saree me,my parents,my mama mami and my in-laws had gone to Chennai. Chennai is the best place for kanjeevaram sarees.It hardly took 1hr to decide my wedding saree.The work on the saree just caught my eyes because It has peacock in zari with slight green threads on it.I always wanted a saree full of zari,it gives a very rich look.And for my reception lehenga it took me over a month to decide.Selecting my reception outifit was the toughest part.When I first saw my reception outfit  it just clicked- i loved the flowers on the lehenga bottom -they looked very different and attractive. The dupatta is sober  but elegant.
 My wedding jewellery I bought from various South Indian Jewelers in Mumbai and Mangalore. For the wedding I only wore gold as it goes well with Kanjeevaram saree.And wore diamond for my reception which was a gift from my in laws.

Who was your Makeup Artist? My makeup was done by Maya R Mehta from Mumbai. She is an amazing make up artist. She just changed my look completely .She gave me a different look  for all my wedding functions.She not only did my make up but for my relatives too.She does minimal make up and gives you a fresh and radiant look. She is reasonable; she charges 6k for each function excluding travelling expense.
