The Emmy’s just took place a day ago and while i was busy travelling from Punjab to Delhi when they were telecast  , I did manage to see that my eternal favourite – Modern Family went home  with a whole host of awards this year at the 2012 Emmy Awards!!! (It was a big winner last year too) Who else thinks that Pretty Little Liars deserves SOMETHING…come on !!! Or Two Broke Girls ?? Or are those too brainless for something as la-di-dah as the Emmies? While i ponder that thought, here is a quick sneak into who wore what at the 2012 Emmy Awards ! ( Spoiler: Nothing made me jump up and scream – in a good way or bad).

Julianne Moore was lovely on the Emmy Red Carpet in a sunny yellow Dior Couture gown.I liked the color on her!

Claire Danes wore a glistening yellow strapless Lanvin gown. Cinched at the waist, and flowing loosely elsewhere, i thought it suited her petite frame. Though i wish she had worn some statement earrings- just the bangles on the wrist are nice too but her ears are crying out for bigger jewels

Lucy Liu wore a metallic silver Versace  gown to the 2012 Emmy’s that made her  look like a space ship ….or a mean alien. *Whip* .

Heidi Klum showed off a whole lot of leg in a floaty, mint green gown by Alexandre Vauthier. Though i liked the floaty, ethereal-ness of the gown, there way way too much matchy-matchy. The shoes, the earrings and even the ring were all mint green. Might have been nicer to break it up a bit!

Padma Lakshmi looked rather ravishing in a chiffon Monique Lhullier. The color was just stunning against her skin tone

Nicole Kidman wore a white gown with turquoise sewuin detailing by Antonio Berardi. I thought it was a really interesting, unique , streamlined sort of a gown. I just didnt like the footwear- looked like something out of the seventies.

Sophia Vergara has some curves all right, but im not sure the best way to accentuate them is to have a bath in sequins. Or Pipes, or whatever else that dress has on. A little bit too much bling for my liking. But  she does WORK it ! and i LOVE her in modern family. Just a ‘Maaani’ or a ‘Paaaappi ‘can make my day.

Another Modern family cutie- Sarah Hyland in a dove grey gown with white and silver detailing. This one was really pretty, and young and feminine- very age appropriate for Sarah! Me like!

January Jones wore a rather origami style Zac Posen, but i kind of loved it. I dont know, it was just sort of edgy and refreshing to see.

Julianna Hough went all Mermaid chic on the carpet in a Georges Hobeika creation (I have no clue who he is, i just like to sound like i do)

Another Monique Lhuiller gown was spotted on Jennifer Goodwin, and i loved this one ! Combining the bright orange trend with the high low trend !

Hayden Panittiere was definitely one of my favourites in a Marchesa India Inspired gown. Maybe its because im biased towards the saree, but i really thought this cross between the saree and gown worked ! I love how she kept the accessories minimal and let that gold detailing do all the talking!

So can we say that the trends for fall are a whole lot of color and  bling??? I saw yellow, oranges, reds and blues and tons of creations dowsed in glimmer !! Monique Lhullier was quite a celebrity favourite, with a lot of the top names sporting her work! What did you think . Which ones did you love?
