Kareena Kapoors Makeup at a Promo Event
Kareena Kapoor threw out her usual dewy cheeks, and high gloss look for a promotional event for Heroine, sporting instead an extremely heavy duty smokey eye. I mean, this was not just smokey; this was full on, ultra dramatic smokey. I kind of felt like the eye was smoked out way too much on the side, like someone just went and had a ball with Mac Carbon . That along with the poofy upswept hair giving it an almost cartoon-ish quality instead of it being sultry and sexy. Maybe if she had just let her hair down it wouldv looked different?
For a similar lipstick try Mac Velvet Teddy or Maybelline Totally Toffee .
I did like the pristine white shift dress with the interesting sleeves as well as that chunky statement necklace. Different from her usual fare, but still not a fan of the makeup! Specially ultra smokey with a clear white dress? Thats just too confusing for me!

I love her in movies, but her face looks different and this look doesn’t match her. Has she had any work done?

I always think that kind of smokey eye is so…..lazy. Like the makeup artist just could not be bothered, so she slapped on some Carbon and called it a day.
To be fair, she does KINDA pull it off, but not with that outfit. She should have stuck to her usual glow ‘n gloss look, and saved the super-heavy eye for a slightly grungy jeans-and-leather jacket type look.
And here I am wondering how wrong can a person go in a single look?
I mean, a white dress and overtly smoked up eyes? I think it would have been better with a brighter or more colorful eye look.
Also, not to miss-look at those apples, she seems to have applied blush right on the front portion of the apples of her cheeks which makes her face look swollen in the first picture!

Not sure if the look works or not, But I do like her smoky eye, she did the same in another promo was looking really good then.

i still feel that those dramatic eyes are somehow carried nicely by the lady but the white dress with a statement necklace is not something I would like to see her in. Good that she tried something new, Bad that it didn’t worked for her

I think the neck piece is too chunky for the dress.. I adore her hair though.. The gold bouffant is back and I am so glad for that!! I don’t much care about the make up matching the color of the clothes which is why I would give the smokey eyes a thumbs up..
Not about matching yr makeup, yo cant match with white anyway..but the point is the makeup should give the same look the dress gives. The dress gives me a cool, summer, day party vibe and the makeup is all heavy and nightime ..
I think its the contrast of the smokey eye with the white dress that makes it so interesting. Otherwise, it would just be too bland.

That smokey eye and ultra strong scouse brow just ruins the whole makeup look!somebody plz tell her MUA how to apply blush on her chubby cheeks it looks almost clownish! Bleh!

to be frank i didnt like the dress either.. but that neck piece is WOW ,unfortunately if teamed up with some simple cute dress .!!

she is looking way different from her usual self,i too think the white dress and that dramatic smokey eye…no way are going together.her face looks good though.

Love the dress , the necklace but do not like tr hair and makeup!i agree with frances.. Smokey eyes scream laziness at times.. I have seen the lady on flights and shes is just so gorgoeus without the goop!
Her eyes are just too deep set for such a dark and heavy look. She would do better with a light eyeshadow and dark kohl encircling her eye (if she still wanted a smokey eye look). Her MUA needs a smack.

I like the make-up and the dress ! , but as you said with the white dress, it looks over done……….appears way too smokey …..I don’t like the hairstyle again with the makeup and the dress…
…If it would have been let loose, the whole look might have softened, ……….This look is overall “HARSH”……..

i met her power yoga instructor at a party the other day. She is as thing as a twig……travels with them continously and is an ex commercial pilot!

Maybe she felt the need to look more ‘heroine-like’ for the promo hence the overt makeup. Personally, I love her fresh look. Not many actresses can carry it off, and she can. Should have stuck to that – I agree. (Though I do love the necklace!)
