Why You’ll Love It
- Sophisticated color and shine
- Lips feel luxuriously soft and supple with nourishing honey nectar
Use the wand to apply lip gloss starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to outer edges of your lips, following the contour of your mouth. Follow the same technique for your bottom lip.
Shades available: Cranberry Cocktail, Born with it, Crazy for Coffee(not mentioned on the site), Pink Perfection, Broadway Bronze, Hooked on Pink, Touch of Toffee, Raspberry Sorbet, Sugared Honey, Plumtastic, Wine All Mine, Mocha Glaze
You know how appearances can be deceiving? Well this Maybelline Colorsensational Lip gloss will definitely try to deceive you but don’t worry because I’m here to warn you ;) What the shade looks like in the tube is nowhere close to what it looks like on the lips and thats actually a good thing. It looks really muddy and unappealing in the tube. Even when you swatch it on your hand, it appears really dull and lifeless. But don’t fall for this trickery because thisPlumtastic gloss transforms into an absolutely breathtaking natural plummy pink a few minutes after application. This particular shade changes colour and transforms from a dull brownish colour into a really bright pink (especially if you apply a thick layer)
These glosses are not new to anyone. In fact, I’m quite sure that these glosses are everyone’s drugstore favourites. I too am in love with these glosses and have so many shades from this range. Before buying these, I only had 1 or 2 glosses which I rarely wore. In fact, I would go as far as to say that these glosses may have changed me into a gloss person (though I still strongly suspect that I might be a lip stain person J) There are almost no cons to this product. I really like the texture which is almost creamy with a subtle shine. This makes it easy to wear to work or college as opposed to some high-shine glosses that really attract unnecessary attention to your lips. It has a subtle citrus scent, like orange juice which I quite like. The pigmentation is superb; one swipe is all you need for medium coverage. Two swipes and you’re done. The gloss has an amazing wear time because even when the glossiness fades, it leaves behind a gorgeous pinkish stain that lasts for a very, very long time.
I’ve tried other colours including Cranberry Cocktail (red shade) but none of the others leave behind any semblance of a tint/stain. But because of its staining property, this particular shade tends to be a little drying after a while but this problem can be easily rectified with a swipe of lip balm. This particular shade adapts to your lips. and just deepens your natural lip colour. It could definitely be mlbp (my lips but pinkier) material for a lot of us. The plum undertones make it look so much more natural on the lips than other pink glosses I’ve tried. It’s probably because a lot of us have lips with mauve/pink/plum undertones rather than pale pink or brown. It will definitely suit all skin tones and will look absolutely gorgeous on darker skin. The packaging is really good. The tube is spill-proof and sturdy. The felt tip applicator makes it easy to apply the gloss.
Pros of Maybelline Plumtastic Colorsensational lip gloss
-Beautiful plummy pink colour.
-Lots of product for the price
-Wears well and leaves a beautiful stain/tint that lasts very long.
-Packaging is sturdy and spill-proof
-Huge color selection in this range. Everyone will find at least one colour they love.
-Slightly drying because of the tint it leaves behind.
– Decently priced at Rs 260.
-Not too shiny or shimmery so good for day time too.
Cons of Maybelline Plumtastic Colorsensational Lip gloss
– No orange or coral shades in the range. Would love it if they’d introduce more shades. I would buy them all.
– The website needs to be more accurate. The colour swatches are really inaccurate.
Price: Rs 260
Recommendation: What you see in the tube or when swatched on your hand is not what you get on the lips. It doesn’t appear brown or muddy on the lips even though that might seem to be the colour judging from a swatch. Very unique gloss that stains for a really long-lasting lip colour. How many lip glosses can you name that leave behind a stain? Definitely recommend it …you’ll love the tint that seems to stay on and on and on…
