Meet Neeti

A bride from Ludhiana, Punjab . A masters in english, she recently tied the knot with Rishi – a match made by her family !She says her family made the perfect choice as both of them are best friends first and life partners later !!! The couple got engaged in  August, and had a winter wedding in December last year!

 P & B Real Brides: Meet Neeti

Ps: Like your bracelet and nail polish!

Tell us about your outfits  and makeup please

Neeti wore  a mustard yellow lehenga- quite an unusual color for the bride. The lehenga had swarovski and stone work with emerald green and white detailing. She bought this from a boutique in Ludhiana itself called ‘Lotus Innovations‘.  Girls from Ludhiana who like her outfit can take a look at their facebook page, they have some more designs there. The same boutique also did her engagement outfit as well. Her lehenga cost Rs 1.5 Lakh.

Her makeup was done by a freelance makeup artist in Ludhiana who used MAC+ Maybelline Makeup. Her Engagement day makeup was done by Lakme in Ludhiana(Im assuming she used Lattoo from Lakme who by the way is super awesome and i highly recommend her to everyone ).

Her jewellery is from Tanishq Wedding Collection.

(Whats interesting to me is the number of hair accessories you have Neeti. That Matha patti really does suit you a lot! And that accessory worn over your plait- iv actually never seen that ! What is it?  I think its also interesting that you did a plait instead of a bun! )

 P & B Real Brides: Meet Neeti

Your Mehendi is extending all the way up the whole of your arm !!!!! You must jave had a LOT of patience to sit for that!

Even I’ve been considering doing a braid on wedding day, but one of the MUAs I spoke to said that it won’t be possible because the dupatta needs the bun to get attached, otherwise it will be difficult to keep it on the head. Neeti, please tell me how you managed?

First off, don’t let a MUA tell you “its not possible”. :D You’d be surprised to hear what’s “possible” in terms of make-up these days. My friend had the weirdest hair cut ever just before the wedding. Her hair was shoulder length on one side and shaven almost to eye-level on the other side (she’s always been a hipster). On the day of her wedding, she looked like the most innocent bhartiya nari you could ever imagine. They used hair extensions on her and make a beautiful low knot!
Even if the dupatta is super heavy, there are ways to make it stay on the head without a bun. And not in all cases does the dupatta rest on the bun. I did a low bun but my dupatta was higher up and not pinned up to the bun at all. So, you can totally do a plait.

Hi Shruti! I have a question, please!!!! I have short hair (shoulder length types). So can I too get a bun and a plait made???!!! I have always loved plaits on brides, but was in two minds coz I have always had short hair. :-(

Yep, I would definitely think so. You might not even need hair extensions for the knot if your hair is slightly past the shoulders.
For the braid, hair extensions/stuffings should work. A good hair stylist would be able to do that easily.
