The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Shower Gel
Guest Review by Priya R (Light Skin Tone, NOrmal to Dry Type)
After reading Mehaks review on The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Butter & Lip Balm , I decided to try them out as well the Shower Gel. Today, I am reviewing The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Bath & Shower Gel.
This soap-free shower gel contains real vanilla extract and has the sweet scent of vanilla and spice. Lather up a little luxury with this deliciously fragrant Bath & Shower Gel. Skin is left feeling soft, cleansed and lightly fragranced with the scent of Spiced Vanilla. Your daily wash has never felt so decadent. Just as you’d expect from The Body Shop, each Bath & Shower Gel has a wonderfully pampering formulation containing specially selected naturally-derived ingredients. Spiced Vanilla Bath & Shower Gel includes vanilla extract plus moisturising Community Fair Trade honey and cocoa butter.
I am not a regular visitor at the Body Shop but what got me excited to try out their products is that most of their products are free of harmful chemicals. This was the reason enough for me to try it out. A few days back I happened to read Mehak’s review on the Vanilla Spiced Lip Balm & Body Butter and was so tempted to try it, & when I was in the store I kind of liked the fragrance of this Spiced Vanilla Shower Gel a lot and brought it home too.
The main USP for me in this Shower Gel is its fragrance. It truly & purely gives vanilla smell with tiny hint of spices. It so reminds me of vanilla cakes & desserts where we sometimes add a pinch of spices, it is exactly that. But sadly this heavenly fragrance is very short lived. It stays on hardly an hour on the body after you step out of the shower and it is quite mild too.
The Shower Gel is white in color and it has a creamy texture and consistency rather than usual transparent shower gels. It feels amazingly soft on the skin. It does the cleansing job well and does not even dry out the skin. If in a hurry I sometimes even skip applying a moisturizer after shower.
The quantity however, I feel is quite less for the price paid. A small 60 ml bottle will hardly last for 10-12 showers. A good quantity, definitely more than a coin size, is required to build up the lather otherwise it does not lather much.
The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Bath & Shower Gel comes in a light brown, transparent bottle with a flip cap. Packaging is sturdy and does not lead to spilling and its narrow mouth opening gives control over the quantity dispensed. It is very convenient to carry for travel purposes.
