Revlon Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator in Bronze Light

Guest post by Lapanika (Wheatish Skin tone)

When your birthday is approaching and if you are nearing 30’s, at the back of your mind you always want to stop the age train! No matter how much people tell you that your skin looks awesome for your age, sometimes you just need products that would make you look dewy, glowy and bronzy( Don’t these adjectives all remind you of pets named Tommy, Snowy and Milky!! No offense to pet owners but people we can be creative in naming pets like one of my friends had named her dog Pushy( How original !)… Because the dog pushed everyone and everywhere!! I am leaving the rest here to imagination)

MY EXPERIENCE: Lately because of this cold weather, my skin has turned flaky and dull and that is exactly why I bought this product. I love the micro shimmer liquid in it which looks reflective and can be mixed with a foundation or a moisturizer. Any combination if used, lends a subtle glow. The Illuminator has a light scent which smells like rose to me. I am slightly cautious when it comes to wearing this in the day time because I don’t want to look shimmery.  The other shades available in this range are for fair, light and pink undertones. This product can also be used as a highlighter and can be doubled up as a bronzer. I have also tried this under a powder blush and it also acts as a primer and lends a pretty glow. I love how cute the tube package looks but not a big fan of the brush applicator. Another good thing about this product is that it has SPF 18. Revlon’s products can be a hit or a miss at times, but you can definitely rely on this product. The lasting power of this product is good for 4 hours, unless you keep doing touch ups.

Pros  of Revlon Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator:

1)      Love the texture and scent

2)      Sizable quantity

3)      Inexpensive

4)      Big like for the SPF

Cons of Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator:

1)      Hate the brush pen applicator

2)      Availability in India

 Rating: A-

Price: $5 for  1 Fl.oz  ( Got this from

Recommendation: If you want to experiment with a bronzer or highlighter, this one should be able to help. If you are a beauty on a budget, I would strongly recommend this to you. If you already have a bronzer/ highlighter of a better brand like Benefit, then you don’t need this one !

I don’t get what this does Lapanika :(
Its a bronzer + illuminator? But won’t it darken your foundation if you mix it in? :|

Nice review.. The brush applicator can be troublesome though.

Kritika # The product says its an Illuminator, which can be used with/without your foundation to give you a warm up your look or make it look dewy ! I mixed with Revlon Colorstay & Neutrogena Foundation and it really gave me a nice glow:)

Karishma# Yes, the applicator is just a packaging gimmick, I suppose !
