My Views:

So, Revlon Lip Butters are the next happening thing in Indian Beauty World and I dived in too, to try out how good these Lip Butters are! I swatched almost all the shades at the store and was really confused as to which one I should pick up. I was already clear on one thing that I don’t want a color which will highlight my lip pigmentation & let me warn you most the colors in this range are very lightly pigmented and will not be effective on covering any kind of darkness on the lips. These Lip Butters are actually lightly tinted lip balms and hence the color pay off is not intense as lipsticks.

I love the packaging, translucent colored caps & the lid reflecting the actual shade inside. Though the packaging is sleek and tall, I wish there was some room toward the end to hold lipstick bullet properly. Every time I try to open I fear it might fall from my hands, the cap is extra long.

Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet is plummy red color and truly reminds me of Red Velvet cake!  For me, it is a bit on the darker side with blue undertones in the tube but when swatched on hands/lips, this color gives sheer coverage and looks much lighter on the skin. It gives glossy/wet look to the lips. I prefer going over a few times to intensify the shade on the lips.

True to its name, this Lip Butter is really a crème on the lips. It glides easily and feels feathery light on the lips. It embraces the lips and keeps the moisture locked in for hours. It gives very cushion-y feeling and its ultra soft and its texture is absolutely amazing. I got about 3 hours of wear time from this Lip Butter and then it started to fade leaving behind a red stain.

Pros of Red Velvet Colorburst Lip Butter by Revlon

  1. Super crème texture
  2. Glossy finish
  3. Red Velvet is decently pigmented shade
  4. It keeps the lips hydrated for hours
  5. Sleek packaging
  6. Contains goodness of shea butter, mango butter, jojoba oil etc.

Cons:

  1. Packaging is a bit trouble some
  2. Price

Verdict:A-

Price: 600/-

Recommendation: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet is super creamy in texture and gives glossy finish to the lips. Red Velvet in particular is most the pigmented shade out of the range and gives decent color pay off too. If you are looking for a dark red color which is ultra soft on the lips then I highly recommend you to try out this shade!

This color is so beautiful! Wish I’d picked it up, I recently bought Candy Apple which I find a touch too bright for me – this one looks more muted + wearable. Pretty pretty!
