Bourjois Lip Pencil Review: Shade 15 Rose Precuix

Guest post by Priya R (Light skin tone)

Product Description:
High definition and long-wearing lip liner for ultra lip comfort. Its ultra-soft khol tip draws a smooth and precise lip contour to line the lips and prevents your lipstick from running for hours on end! Enriched with mineral and plant pigments (rose and green tea) it is good for your skin. The formula is easy to blend, comfortable and smoothly glides onto the lips, leaving a soft velvety finish.  Available in a wide range of shades that match the Sweet Kiss naturel lipstick colours.
My Views:
I have recently realised the importance of a Lip Liner, and so  when I purchased my first lip liner I got a nude shade which helped me to neutralize the lips before applying light color lipsticks. For me, it was important because it helped in covering dark pigmentation on the lips. It not only toned down the pigmentation but it also increased the lipstick wear time and most importantly it perfectly defined the shape of my lips.
Bourjois Levres Contour Lip Liner – Rose Precieux 15 is a soft light pink shade and it can be teamed up with many shades of pink – dark & light. The wooden pencil is easy to locate due to the outer color which represents the shade it is in. It does not require frequent sharpening hence it will last really long.  This lip liner is easy to apply and glides on the lips smoothly but after few seconds it appears dry on the lips. I do prefer using a lip balm beneath but it still sheds flaky skin. The color is gorgeous and can be worn alone too without a lipstick but since it is quite drying in texture I do not prefer wearing it on its own. It also has a tendency to settle between the fine lines.  It covers lip pigmentation to an extent (not completely) and helps lipstick show its true color. Staying power of the lipstick is easily increased by 2-3 hours before it starts to fade. It does survive a light meal in between.

Pros of Bourjois Lip Pencil:

Soft texture – it glides easily on the lips

Decently pigmented

Gives matte finish

Can be worn alone without lipstick

Available in many shades

Will last longer

Cons of Bourjois Lip Pencil:

Gives dry appearance on the lips

Requires pre-moisturization

Tends to give flaky skin

Recommendation: B

Price: Rs 240/-

Recommendation: Bourjois Levres Contour Lip Liner – Rose Precieux 15 is a decently pigmented lip pencil which gives matte finish to the lips. It does hide the pigmentation and enhances the true lipstick color. However, it is drying in nature and gives flaky skin but for the price and variety in shades available, these pencils should be tried atleast once!
