Faces Go Chic Lip Gloss in Raspberry
Guest post by Sktribal
Here’s an account of an online shopping experience gone terribly wrong. I was ordering some stuff from Medplusbeauty and was just browsing through the makeup section to see if there was anything else I might possibly need *cough*. I was looking at some stuff from Faces, when I noticed these lip glosses. They were really cheap and so, I couldn’t resist adding one to my shopping cart. Now, buying an unflattering shade wasn’t really my fault.
You see, the Medplus site catalogue listed this shade as Roseberry (not Raspberry) so naturally I assumed the shade would be either a rosy pink or a berry pink, both of which would probably suit my skin tone. But when I received the order, I realised it wasn’t Roseberry but Raspberry, a medium pink with tons of silver shimmer. Silver shimmer really doesn’t suit me at all, especially when the shimmer is so much that it translates into a very prominent silver sheen. HATE IT.
It totally clashes with my warm skin tone and makes me look dull and ill. Anywho, this gloss comes in a clear plastic tube with a white top. It closes tightly and there’s no danger of leaks. The gloss is just a tad sticky and thick but nothing intolerable. The wear time is an average 2 hours or so without food or drinks. The pigmentation is good but the shimmer really overpowers the pink and makes it look frosty and pale. The gloss is very reasonably priced and you can buy them online at really good discounts. I would like to try other shades from this range but this shade is a complete no-no for me.
Rating: A-
Price: Rs199
Final Recommendation: I like the texture and pigmentation of this gloss but I hate the colour. It’s the kind of colour that wouldn’t suit most warm Indian skin tones. Skip this if silver shimmer washes you out. If you’re cool toned and/or very fair, this would probably be great for you. I’d recommend trying other more flattering shades from this very affordable lip gloss range.

This is why I am so scared to shop online.

Ya, me too but the discounts usually tempt me
so I usually look for reviews of stuff before buying.
I have almost 5 of go chic lipsticks and they are great. That made me check out the glosses as well. But on swatching them, I found most to them ( read all) frosty. So, gave them a pass ( as of now )
Still liking the color

Exactly, they’re all frosty and usually brown..I think Bubblegum is the only shade which might suit me
color is nice. I know online shopping of lipstick/glosses and eyemakeup some times are disastrous. I always swatch before buy and avoid online for makeup neither you can smell them.

Me too. Usually, I only buy after reading reviews but sometimes I’m impulsive and usually I don’t end up regretting it. This purchase was an exception
i dont like the shimmer either!

The colour that is shown online is relatively different from what the actual colour is. :/

Ya, and it is called Roseberry on Medplus instead of Raspberry
The lip gloss looks good but as you pointed out, it might wash me out as well
Too bad but would love to try out other shades
