Maybelline Colorsensational ” The Jewels” Lipstick: Rose Quartz Swatches & Review

Sometimes i wish i were my own makeup product. You know…someone clicking me all the time, me posing and  showing off myself from all  angles and then being written about in the media !! What a pampered, super star life . Last weekend, i actually was that pampered makeup product because yours truly landed up on Page 3 of the Hyderabad times. Now, honestly its not such a big deal because for some odd reason , there is paparazzi outside every hyderabad club just waiting for some girl to agree to being clicked. Obviously, im not going to let go of the opportunity to pose, smile for the shutterbugs, wave my hand saying ‘Bus Bus Bahut ho gaya’ (Hey , its not everyday i get that attention okay!) But now that im back to my “no one cares aboutyou” life in New Delhi, its back to  me pampering Makeup Products and this time its the  Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick from the Jewels Collection called Rose Quartz!

Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels is a line which as the name suggests has a range of jewel toned colors and names to match! Rose quartz, is a pretty rosey pink with slight purple undertones. Atleast it pulls a little bit purple on my skin tone. It has a pearlescent kind of quality to it , so there is this sheen to the lipstick which is not exactly a full on frost, but a very mild kind of pearly shine. Its a pretty pink for the light to medium skintones, im not exactly a fan of it on my skintone for some reason. Not that it looks bad, i just feel like the silvery-ness of the sheen and the purple undertone doesnt flatter my warm skin as much.

As all Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks, these too are pigmented and non drying. They last an average amount of time of about 4 hours and have a nice sweet coconut aroma to them. They could definitely improve in the glide department, as they arent the most creamy lipsticks so they dont just slip effortlessly on, but given the pigmentation, good lasting power and non drying quality about them these are definitely bang for your buck material.

PS: Love that shiny  reflective packaging

Verdict: B+

Price Rs 350/-

Recommendation: The Maybelline Color sensational Lipsticks all provide bang for your buck in terms of pigmentation and quality. Rose Quartz is a pretty rose pink from the Jewels collection , which is likely to suit cooler skintones a tad bit more than warmer ones because of the subtle purple undertone and the  silvery pearlescent quality to it. Still consider these lipsticks one of the best budget ones in the market though!

I’m eyeing the Berry Brilliant shade from this range but I think maybe it’ll be a little too deep for me.

I don’t know why I didn’t like this line that much. But even though you did not like the shade, I pretty like it on you
