Maybelline The Falsies Mascara Review

When it comes to mascara i love my Maybelline  Collosal Mascara, it is the only mascara i have found effective from all the ones iv tried ! But on a recent visit to the Maybelline counter i picked up the Maybelline Falsies mascara and this is what i thought about it :

My view about Maybelline Falsies Mascara:

ü  Builds volume and length in just one coat.

ü  The curved brush helps curl the lashes a bit.

ü  Good for days when you don’t have time to apply many coats.

ü  Good for extremely dark and smoky eye makeup where even clumped lashes may look okay.

ü  Good for thin, sparse lashes.

L  Clumps lashes in just one coat.

L  If you apply more than one or two full coats, you’ll only have five really thick lashes. Doesn’t separate lashes at all.

L  The brush picks up way too much product and you have to scrape off the excess before each use.

L  Lashes look really bad unless you apply an extremely controlled, thin coat. Even then you won’t get a separated lash effect.

L  More expensive than the Colossal

 

My view about Maybelline Collosal Mascara:

ü  Doesn’t clump unless you apply a million coats

ü  Separates the lashes while adding length and volume.

ü  You can build up the volume and thickness depending on the look you’re going for.

ü  The brush picks up just enough product.

ü  Cheaper than the Falsies mascara

ü  Good for all kinds of lashes- thick, thin, long, short.

L  Can get a little flaky when it has been used for a long time.

Overall, I still prefer my Colossal to Falsies. You can achieve a reasonably fanned out look with the Falsies but it requires a lot of time and effort which is just not worth the price you pay. The Colossal is really good in all aspects, especially when the formula thickens up a bit.

Overall Recommendation:I didnt really love the Falsies mascara. It clumps your lashes and makes you look like you only have 5 lashes. The brush picks up too much product and it’s a pain to keep scraping off the excess. For the price we pay, I expected much better.  So for me its Maybelline Colossal anyday!
