Clinique Chubby Sticks Review: Oversized Orange

What comes to mind when you think of  anOversized Orange?  If you have a regular, normal person imagination then you would think- a slightly larger than normal orange which would give you more juice in your everyday juice glass! Me? Nothing Normal about my imagination, so the first time i heard that Oversized Orange phrase i just imagined this giant planet sized Orange rolling like a massive ball down the street at India Gate and chasing me as i run for my lifeeee towards the Parliament House ! Im not kidding, i actually had a dream about an oversized  ball chasing me  to Rashtrapati Bhavan once…though this didnt trigger that dream. But still, Oversized Orange just reminds me of my scary Orange Ball  dream *shiver*.

The Clinique Chubby Stick in Oversized Orange, nothing scary about that. Its this stick of orange tinted lip balm which has eaten far too many chocolates (Orange flavoured?)  and become all chubby and round. Clinique says this cute little stick will pleasantly plump and playful nourish your lips.  Packed with ‘do-gooders’ to keep lips luscious and irresistibly soft, NEW Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm provides a sheer hint of colour that glides on effortlessly, leaving behind a natural blush of colour and sheen.

So , these are pretty sheer. I mean, if you are expecting these to be like the Revlon Lip butters, you will be dissapointed. These are kind of like the Pigmentation levels of those Nivea Lip Balms if not lesser, except the Nivea ones costed 1/5th the price . I think girls with pale lips will probably enjoy them a lot more than us with pigmented lips, because the color does come out very sheer on the lips. They also have these in built sparkles in them- nothing flashy, theyr pretty much invisible  an if anything, add to the sheen. Oversized Orange is a sheer, warm peachy orange.

I do like how they feel on the lips, there is something quite luxurious about the way they kind of just envelope your lips. And i have to say, i totally enjoy applying them through that chubby tip. Having said that, though these are moisturizing, they pretty much equal what a regular tinted lip balm would be like. It goes away after about 3-4 hours and your lips need re-application again to feel moist and soft again.

Verdict: B+

Price: Rs 1025 for one.

Recommendation: The Clinique Chubby Sticks , like Clinique claims are essentially softly tinted lip balms. They are nicely moisturizing, and have a very  soft tint to them and pretty much live up to the claims of Clinique. However , given the price i feel like there isnt anything  ‘MUST HAVE’ about them- they are regular tinted lip balms at a slightly higher price. Specially those with pigmented lips may not enjoy .

There aren’t many tinted lip balms out there so I guess if you have really dry lips…these can be a real deal….

shade is pretty, what if this is topped on a brown/coral shade lipstick. Cost wise its surely on higher side.

Badly wanted one of these! But I’ll pass after reading this. 1025 bucks for a sheer lip balm thingy not worth it IMO. Btw Mahek, I’ve seen reviews and videos of these Revlon Just Bitten lip balm stain which look soo similar to these but are apparently way more pigmented! Wish they would launch em in India :(
